If we can play god and create life then there's the proof enough for any "god" to create life on another world by using the same process and in effect explain Genesis itself. Science will eventually completely confirm his existence despite people's need to disprove it. This only makes me happier because it makes the concept of a god all that more tangible. :)

forget my previous post.

Humans reaching 'godly' abilities is evidence against his existence. It's been proven that we are the end result of many cases of natural selection on top of pure chance. If that's all that's needed for there to be a God (as you are essentially saying, because our ability to create life artificially is asserted by you to be godlike), that means he's not nearly as complex nor omni-everything as he is supposed to be. Therefore the Bible lied.

Not in my mind. Showing us how we were made could be all the evidence needed to prove there is a god. Whether or not this will cause a massive falling out of religion is really up to the individual. Will they see this as proof positive that life was created by a being with technology we can only see as omni-everything described in the Bible? There is a lot that has happened in the world since that book was written that if someone was brought from that time to ours, they would consider us gods or messengers from a god for all our accomplishments that would seem like nothing but magic and godly powers.

The Bible can not be held as a basis for solid religious fact and I admit that. However, I've never seen the Bible as complete 100% fact as it was written by man as his interpretation on what they at the time thought God wanted us to do. And Man as a whole is flawed so there is bound to be countless mistakes and inconsistencies in there. To use that as the sole argument against it is as faulty as trying to use it to prove anything. I see it simply as a book of moral tales and guidelines to help form a society in which people can coexist together. They needed something in order to form order and structure and it was most likely some person's idea that if we can get a whole town to live this way, why not try to spread the info around? And that eventually led to all the religious wars, strife, and lack of faith founded today. But that is only a guess, but most likely a very accurate one since Man is prone to want control even in the name of Religion or in the name of debunking religion. All human faults, fallacies, and misconceptions.

Block Builder:

I finally decided that I don't want to live forever, so I guess I'm an Atheist because I like the thought of death rather than living forever.

No more arguing now. :D

Me and Inv3rted argue like an old married couple. I find it mentally stimulating and amusing.

If Block wants to be an Atheist, he's got my permission. I respect his choice.
