Well, you could make weapons purchasable with points. That is, assuming killing a "Creature/monster" (zombies, I presume) gives you points.

As for a boss creature, there's a tank zombie floating around somewhere.

Holy crap, the Tanks are hard to kill.
I was bombing it with Molotov roostertails and HE Grenades and Pipebombs and it STILL wouldn't die.
