They were good to their suck-up subordinates whom were being paid, promised a great afterlife for following them. :/
But to be honest, if I was an Al Queda operative and Osama promised me an afterlife of 72 virgins...I'd simply ask, why he hasn't gone off to make that great sacrifice for his country and peoples for his Jihad like any of his followers would. You think they guy would jump at the bit to be a martyr for his people, but most of his followers are children now and are too young to think of this deception.
