As far as I know the most wrong we've done is destroy the Native American culture, which I admittedly am not proud of. The only other gripes I have is that we decided to go to war in the middle east. Other than that Canada is usually helping out the victims of war, cleaning up messes America, or any other country for that matter, has made. You instigated this argument. You pointed out how you disliked Canadians for a reason, I replied with why I disliked Americans for a reason. You took it as an attack, when it wasn't. As for my arrogance, maybe I was a bit, I'm sorry for that. Also, I find most Canadian stereotypes comical. For example, we have a stereotype that we live in igloos. It's easier to laugh at the ignorance rather than be offended by it. |

Bush wasn't really elected democratically the first time. It's arguable that Al Gore won. Both of you are generalizing countries which have nothing to do with personal belief and values. I dislike many religious folk because of their beliefs, not because of their nationality. Being an American does not make you support the Republicigarette policies, just as being a Canadian does not make you support whatever is bad with Canada according to Rughugger. |

The only other gripes I have is that we decided to go to war in the middle east. Other than that Canada is usually helping out the victims of war, cleaning up messes America, or any other country for that matter, has made. And yet somehow, that doesn't sound like policing either. You feel you have to go out into the world and correct mistakes other countries have made. Gee, sounds a lot like what everyone accuses the US of doing all the time. You instigated this argument. You pointed out how you disliked Canadians for a reason, I replied with why I disliked Americans for a reason. You took it as an attack, when it wasn't. I stated I disliked the attitude of Canadians who feel other countries should celebrate their holidays. If you didn't feel I was personally attacking you, then why bother replying at all if you're not even part of the problem? Also, I find most Canadian stereotypes comical. For example, we have a stereotype that we live in igloos. It's easier to laugh at the ignorance rather than be offended by it. Yes ,well living in igloos and messing with the internal politics of other countries for the sole benefit of profit are two different things. One is a joke, the other is an accusation that has yet to hold any real merit. --- End quote --- |
