It will not protect you from it's harmfull attacks, however you will not be cursed when you lift the cat.

But I'm afraid this cat can not be touched. His master never wanted him to be loveually abused, so the cat is invulnerable to touch....

That's the whole point of the oven mitts, that and not being cursed.
