The Jewish people still go by the old Testament, so your argument is more with them than anything. Either way, historical text is just as feasible as any new testament would be. Even if current faith we believe in no longer follows old testament.

seems like god is a pretty sick person. with his priorities all lost.
so much symbolism for nothing. is that what a real god would be doing?

Not to mention he created people with the ability to be tempted and then he creates something to tempt them and then he blames them for breaking a rule.
