These debates are always funny. Which is the most reliable source? Well what the forget do you guys think Science is? (I only read the thread title btw)
For anything to be accepted by scientific community it needs to be repeatable, hence "reliable". I expect that my lamp should turn on when I flick the switch, lo' and behold it turns on. I could pray to the lamp for a while and, given outside influences are allowed, it might turn on. Maybe a piece of the ceiling will fall down and hit the switch or something, unlikely but it could happen. Which would automatically mean GODLY INTERVENTIONS!!
This falls back on the Bible's stories too. Are any of them repeatable? Can you actively prove anything that's written in the bible through any sort of documented procedure? No? Well then I guess it remains unexplainable and therefore quite limited in reliability. How can you rely on something you along with everyone else cannot hope to understand?
