--- Quote from: Kalphiter on November 09, 2009, 11:27:14 PM ---Prove a circle is 360 degrees. Exactly, it's something we accept. --- End quote --- Thats easy to prove. Give me a perfect circle and Ill prove in. |

--- Quote from: Kalphiter on November 09, 2009, 11:27:14 PM ---Prove a circle is 360 degrees. Exactly, it's something we accept. --- End quote --- what the forget That's a terrible example. We defined a circle to have 360 degrees for the sake of our mathematical system. It doesn't have 360 degrees by default, just like an apple is not called an apple by default. --- Quote from: Digmaster on November 09, 2009, 11:27:54 PM ---But then again there's string theory, which is not proven in the least. Thus theory is anything that explains anything. Id call evolution more of a law then anything else, in any event. --- End quote --- String theory has evidence for its existence, just not much. Anyway, it's turned into membrane theory. It's the best we've got for the time being, even if there's scarce evidence. That's not to say it can't be wrong because there's nothing to challenge it. --- Quote from: Deoxy99 on November 09, 2009, 11:29:10 PM ---Gravitons are strings! --- End quote --- Gravitons are the hypothetical particle of gravity. Lisa Randall has proposed that they could be leaking into the theoretical eleventh dimension, which explains gravity's relative weakness. There is mathematical evidence for the existence of extra dimensions, by the way. |

Would the two who voted the bible please come up and explain their reasoning? |
| Tom:
Well I voted bible, but I'm still not sure if by science you meant experiments or theories. |
