That's an awesome image. I remember that. I was at a friend's house and all of a sudden the fans stopped turning. No lights were on at the time so I just thought someone turned them off. Also, here in NYC traffic managed to keep flowing without accidents even without signals. :o

I happened to be in Massachusetts for the week and just outside of the dead zone. Otis, Massachusetts. Only received short power outages
It's also funny how the path from Long Island to the mainland goes right through a blackout zone, yet is still had some power.
