H20 + H20 is the same as H4 + 02

H4 and 02 are two completely different things than 2H20. Hydrogen can also only bond to itself once, because it has one valence electron. Furthermore, both Hydrogen and Oxygen are diatomic molecules, meaning they bond to themselves more often than not.
Now, 2H20 = 2H2+O2 works.
