He didn't specify a country, so I assumed he was talking about the US, given he's a resident of that country. "by army" doesn't really specify much.

Well, The Kalashnikov was only used by Russia in WWII so by process of elimination, it must be Russia he is referring to.

I wasn't about to assume someone with the literacy that he has knows his history. And WWII ended by 1947.

Yes, I did not Ak-47 I said Kalashnikov, the original one. WWII ended 1945.
