Depends what sort of music do you like? I suggest you avoid any classic guitars unless you are looking to play twangy nylon strings, not only that but the tuning pegs cannot handle too much tension either.
If you are looking for an acoustic guitar to learn on Yamaha has some good deals in the price range you want, but the best way to find your guitar is to go to an instrument store and ask one of them to help you out. I highly recommend you visit a retailer to find the axe just for you.

Martin does an excellent job on acoustics. My older brother has three of them, one of them has marble fretts and incredible lining on the wood. And overall, the way they sound, makes a ton difference compared to my younger brother's wal-mart guitar.
