My iPod Froze

This never happened to me before, so what do I do? I was just going to let the battery run out to see if that worked, but if there's an easier way I'd love to hear it.
Caution:
Mine always did that until it died altogether. I got it unfrozen somehow... don't remember how.
Did you plug it in to your computer?

My nephew took off the skin of my ipod, and threw it across the room.
The screen shattered :(
And my warranty ran out so no moar ipod 4 me D:

or on iPod Touch: Sleep button + home button for a few seconds...
