a lot of old technology is actually a hell of a lot more reliable than new stuff. we have a tv that has been used every single day single when it was bought in 1983 or something, it's still working perfectly fine. bought a new tv back in 2004 and the picture tube broke in '06. my dad uses a computer that we got new in 1995 (windows 95 on it, of course) every day, works perfectly, nothing's ever been replaced. i've gone through 4 different "new" computers in the past 10 years of so, where parts failing have made it unusable. |
