G5 Mouse Problems (Dying Out)

I've had this mouse since about last summer, and now it keeps turning off and on randomly. I think it's the cord disconnecting and reconnecting. Could it be something with Windows 7? It started doing this when I got Windows 7. Anyone ever had experience with this? I've tried different USB ports. I'm going to try it on a different PC now. And if it is the wire, should I get another G5, or get a different mouse?
EDIT: yep, it's the wire.
