Author Topic: Death Penalty  (Read 6150 times)

if you murder all the murderers in the world you would be dead

[edit]HURRRR
The basis of Christianity is God giving humans a second chance through the death of Christ.
As I have come to know it in my life "second chance" = "forgiveness".

Not to start any religious argument of course.

If you're a fundamentalist Christian, the Bible makes it quite clear how much God hates his creations.

The most effective and cheapest solution is for cops to "accidentally" shoot suspects 200 times and kill them, but cops have loving horrible aim. I laugh every time I watch cops and it is like "The officer shot 30 bullets point-blank at the suspect, but miraculously he came out unscathed!"

uk has no death penalty :D

uk has no death penalty :D
Sweden has no death penalty either =D

I'm all against death penalty. In my view, it goes against the principle of human rights, this was the main reason it was deemed unconstitutional here, thus removed from the penal code.

The other reason is, that death penalty is an irreversible punishment, thus in case the emergence of new evidence which may prove the sentenced innocent, there would be no way of reversing it and making amends. Sending an "I'm so sorry, xoxo ~The Judge Ps.: I mean it" letter to the family is not a solution.

Seriously, most of you have no idea what power does criminal law hold. That is why it has the most carefully and elaborately designed system of guarantees.

So instead of elimination, there should be other sort of punishment. What really should be done is to utilize the able and healthy in the correction facilities to give something back to the society which they have taken from, such as creating labour camps for doing hard work, or using them for keeping the streets clean.

The majority of those who support the death penalty assume that human beings can forfeit the right to have others feel compassionate to them.

A murderer is scum, but no human deserves to die.

I could, but I'm not going to go there this time. I'm already in a pissy mood today.

Men get arrested. Dogs get put down.

I am for it, it you break to law to such a serious offense, you deserve to die.
Sets an example.

FUNDAMENTALIST. You don't take every word of the bible to be literally true.

Well no, I don't but you just can't leave one comment be without having to inject your personal attacks against any and all religion. We get the point already.

Our justice system is not perfect. Even if there's a .0001% chance that we're wrong, is that a risk worth taking when you have control over someone's life?

No you loving don't, because you can make up to it... but no wait you're dead. Damn.

Sets an example.
I don't think you hear of them that much...? It's not like people plan on getting killed anyways.

Jail is a torture. You commit crime you go to jail. 20 years of jail you go insane. Moved to Asylum. Try to kill yourself, moved to solitary confinement. They find your dead carcass, serve it to other people who are criminally insane.

I think you're stupid.

Also, people are required to get fair trials. There are different degrees of murder, and you can get as small as a 10 year sentence for murder. I think that's kindof forgeted up, I mean atleast give them like 30.
