He didn't open the attachment.
E-mail isn't as dangerous as you think it is... so long as you have great protection.

You'd be surprised at how well some viruses are. Most are being designed to use your anti-virus to spread itself through your PC. Your protection becomes your infection. You don't even have to open the attachment because the attachment is usually hidden as a screenshot of the content of the email you opened. By opening it, you activate the thing right off the bat. That's why you never open an email from someone you do not know. Trust me. I have the very first email account I ever created and it's because I never open emails I don't recognize.

Thanks for the heads up, however I don't think a .rar file can be shown as an image. I also don't read those e-mails not because I didn't trust them but simply because I actually never cared for them.
