I doubt that's actually how it is, but that sure would convince me (if I was a girl) to not get an abortion if I was thinking about it.
You're right though, its using children.
Edit: Actually nevermind, it ruined it when they actually went through the abortion and made it sad, it would be better if they sent the message in a happy way. And when it acted like the baby knew what was going on...

They forgot the alternate ending where the boy grows up into a life of poverty, has to fight to survive everyday, ends up being a criminal because that's all he knows, takes the lives of other people, and is finally shot in a driveby.
If the mother can't sustain a child she shouldn't have one.
