Guitar; Hao2lern? :c
Thorax:
Internet is your best friend. Print out sheet music that you'd like to play and start learning. Don't know how it's supposed to sound, watch a video of someone playing the same song. I personally don't play guitar, but a camp councilor of mine did that while we were at camp. He improved dramatically the week we were there.

IceBlue:
Go onto the internet and download some tabs for songs you know. Start with simple stuff, really. I'd suggest a few Australian rock band songs, they tend to have awesome sounding if not simple Riffs. I use Ultimate-Guitar to find my tabs. Find some AC/DC on there, print off a tab and strum away.

WhatevaGuy:
A friend of mine learned to play the piano purely by ear--this strategy may work for guitar.
