Author Topic: I'm converting.  (Read 14689 times)

You seemed to give up, Inverted. You should not change your beliefs for a community of teenagers/handful of adults. I got grilled hundreds of times at school everyday for being atheist. I tell them all the same thing.

"It's America. My beliefs are my own, I have no problem with yours."

It's your life, do as you please. It just seems to me you have converted for other reasons. I wish you all the luck in Christianity. I hope you don't become a radical like the nasty children in my high school trying to convert non-believers by cursing and through profanity.

Edit: The hobo died because he went out in the street and got hit by a car. There happened to be a car speeding down the street.

If they were true Christians, they wouldn't have grilled and harassed you.

but you are still going for divine enlightenment, which is still trying to believe a superior force will give you knowledge
Taosim is nature/chakra, bro.

Which is a pretty dumb reason, I gotta say.
Especially the "science can't explain death" part.
Of course it can; You die when the neurons in your brain stop firing.

Also I hate the "repent" bullstuff spewed by most religions. Your "just and loving" omnipotent god is going to sentence you to an eternity in hell for not believing in its existence, or questioning its existence when it has provided virtually no legitimate proof? If it's omnipotent, then it obviously would know how flawed man is when it created man, right? Or even more so; It's "JUST AND LOVING". If it loved all human beings, then wouldn't it forgive atheists? EVEN MORE SO, why would it feel irrational human emotions like forgiveness or even love? Is it even sentient if it is beyond our realm of understanding?
If there is a god, then there's very few things that would sentence you to hell: Murder, Rape, and generally being Evil. That's all.

I also think Inverted is taking a small thing and giving it a bigger meaning. The hobo died because he went out into the street and the car either didn't see him or didn't care. Death can come at any time, and any place. Death chooses it's victims with blind eyes and groping hands, killing anyone. A good Catholic can die any day just as much as a Satanist.

If they were true Christians, they wouldn't have grilled and harassed you.
Agreed. My response to an Atheist, even one within my school is just to be disappointed in their choice. The way that I deal with atheists is this: If you can respect what I believe, then I can respect what you believe even though I think it is wrong. I'm still going to hope that you'll change your mind and if you want to, I'll talk about it with you but I don't want to force it on anyone.

Well, you know, in Catholicism if you aren't that great and aren't all too bad, you'll jsut go to Purgatory for a few million years, and then go to heaven.
That is, those Catholics who follow the idea of Hell that Dante wrote, which is a little heretical because they're believing something that isn't in the Bible as part of their beliefs.

Exactly. The universe is random, anyone can die from anything at any moment. A lunatic could come up behind you while you read this and stab you in the back.

religion didn't bring us this

But gods creation and resources gave us the mind to do it.

He's looking at an ordinary occurrence and thinking thinking that life might have a greater meaning.

The funniest thing about this thread is how a lot of people said the Christians harassed them to become Christians, yet most people in this thread are harassing Inv3rted because he became a Christian. Everyone acts like being a Christian makes you some sort of freak. For the most part, we are still the same people as we were before, just our core belief has changed. He probably still likes Blockland and other hobbies that he likes before, so get off his back about it. Why does it matter what he believes if half of you don't believe in any sort of Supreme Being?

Will you still masturbate to yuri?

Problem with this is that a large portion of Christians aren't true Christians.  They were either raised Christian, don't really care and see it as some useless title, or have no idea what their religion is about.

But gods creation and resources gave us the mind to do it.
You can't rationalize creation of technology with an unproven opinion.

Or you could teleport to pluto.

Because he's wrong, and because he's dumb enough to convert for such a reason. :)

How incredibly romantic.

Because he's wrong, and because he's dumb enough to convert for such a reason. :)

You have absolutely no way to prove that he's wrong because you can't disprove God.
