I'd try to find the Frag Sword.
Check the Under-Maze to see if you can find that merchant.
Those have great armor passing stats.

Level up to 26, you'll get the Armorslayer skill.

It's good for a while until you get the bolter. If you decided to get the gun sword skill that is.

I still say Armorslayer's your best bet.
