Author Topic: New computer--How crappy is it?  (Read 2262 times)

OH HEY ANOTHER COMPUTER TOPIC, I BET YOU GUYS HAVEN'T SEEN MANY OF THESE LATELY AM I RIGHT?

Okay, so I'm getting a new computer in about a week. Here are the specs:

2GB DDR2 RAM
2.6GHz Pentium Dual Core Processor
Nvidia GeForce GT220 GT 240 Graphics card with 1GB DDR3 VRAM

Those are all the specs I can get at the moment. Would this be able to play any game released within the past year on high? I don't really care about graphics, I'm just wondering.

asdf

That's a low end card for workstations.

It works for games, though.

I used to have a GeForce 8400GS, so at least it would be a little better (well, not sure. I think it is :/)

Jesus loving christ, do research if you're not sure.

Yes, it will be better than an 8400 GS.

I did, but I'm still not 100% sure even though it was stated right on Nvidia's site. Go figure, I'm stubborn.

Awesome :D

GT220 is better than the 8400 GS but still is for like home computers.

I never really do much PC gaming, though. The only time I get a PC game that's also on the 360 is when the 360 version is crap/doesn't have a feature that the PC version has.

But still, it'll be nice to have a card better than the 8400.

Go for a quad core instead. Dual Cores are about to be outdated.

You must be drunk or something, I'm pretty sure you're talking about single-cores.

Wait for the i9's to come out. Six cores. Yes.

How much are you paying for this?

How much are you paying for this?
$70

My school pays for the computer. The only thing I have to buy is the graphics card

But at some point, I have to give the computer back to the school :(
