The nVidia 310 came out last month so, the rest of the 300 series should be available in a few months, I'd just wait until they come out and then choose between one of those or an ATI card.
Wrong.
The 310 is simply a rebranding on a 9 series card, to be used in pre-built machines by Dell. It's not the actual GTX300 series, fermi-based cards everyone is waiting for.
Duckmeister, did you get your 5970? I would be really interested in some personal benchmarks.
I sure did. The only game I have benchmarked so far is Dirt 2, which I'm getting 60 FPS on average (with all settings maxed with DX11). Next up will be Far Cry 2, and Arma 2.
Modern Warfare 2 runs great at 120 FPS, but I haven't fully benchmarked it yet.
This is all running on a i7 920.
I might actually get a 5970 if the price drops, and they fix the drivers.
DRIVERS ARE FIXED. CATALYST 9.12.
That thing has some pretty high power requirements, you sure you can handle that?
750w is high for a gaming machine?
