Ocean Waves/Swells

I've been wondering if blockland can support waves or swells in water. (not for bricks) Ocean maps would be much more fun.
If this idea is possible, then I suppose I am requesting it too. :D

Oh yeah and if this is possible, would it cause a significantly greater amount of lag?

I've heard Badspot was going to make Water Physics in v14.

Waves are supported in the existing waterblock code in TGE, however the waves do not actually exist - they're just drawn there but you won't float on them. This is because waves are not synchronised between all the clients and the server (because it'd eat up a lot of bandwidth). I don't think this is going to be done any time soon as the focus is on improving gameplay and the user experience.
