Author Topic: Could there be a other reason why people who join my server Lag?  (Read 880 times)

People always say that there getting bits of lag and a drag when they join my server.
(And of course, no lag for me, I'm the host) I can tell its not the Builds, and the bricks, But I'm starting to think its my Uploading speed. My friend advised that I should check out this website www.Speedtest.net and I got my results

Upload Average- 0.12Mb/s
Download Average- 0.72Mb/s

Odds are its just that my uploading speed isn't the best, and if that's the problem, I would have to change it with my ISP

But does anyone else have any idea why this is happening? or if theres anyother way to boost my Uploading speed?

Yeah your upload speed is TERRIBLE. I would recommend you only host servers for at MOST 4 people. The only way to increase your upload speed is to buy faster internet.

Explain.

Explain.

Theres nothing to explain. You will have to post a copy of your command script when people say your server is lagging. Why? Because I have a perfect server and when i went to http://www.Speedtest.com/ i got the same thing as you. It must have to do with their ports, if you have port forwarded you would know what I mean.

Ask you ISP if they offer a faster connection or choose a different ISP.

...I have port forwarded correctly.
but I still don't know what you meen about the command Script.

I want to change my ISP But my mom won't buy in to it.
(I have Verizon, as they said)

Tripletoast

"Based on Speedtest.net" what would be a appropriate Speed for hosting a good, Non-lag/drag Server.

I just realized that your problem may be how you configured your blockland's network configuration. Go to options -> Network and make sure the settings are NOT on T1/LAN or Cable. Choose one of the lower options, it would probably be much better suited for your internet connection.

I have always had it at  56.6K modem.

not one of the higher ones.

Mine that I run my server on, as a home internet. But I and the server still lags past about 18 people.

WOOOOOHOOO! :D
Your ping is ridiculous though. Prolly the distance.
