It irritates me that we are updating a language with pointless bits. Officializing slang seems like... I don't know... corruption, to me. It is just as bothersome as when tv channels use stuff like "Lol" and "OMG". When i first saw that, I was horrified.

"Google it" is fine to me as Google is a whole word. It's just that "lol" and "omg" stuff that bugs me when professionals use it in their products or dialog.

If people use "lol" outside of the Internet period it's annoying.
