Did you ever try to open up a .bls file and you opened it with Wordpad or Notepad and make it a .txt?

Save the file with save as and disable the extensions.

I tried that. It saves as " .bls .txt ", anyway.

Yes. But not this time. I learned my lesson some time ago. ( A couple months ago. )

Yeah that effects you forever I think, if it is able to open it, your PC decides ir legit and keeps it that way until you try to open it with something else, so I think your pretty screwed unless someone here can help you with a problem like that. Or else your just going to have to stop by a server and save it in-game.
