Hosting the Server:My internet upload speed is thirty five megabytes per second and I can only hold up to fifteen people on a small build without lag.
I'd say you'll barely make it past five, if even that high.
If you want more, you'll either have to ask a friend with faster internet to host the server for you or pay for a hosting service.
Three most well-known hosting services:
Kaphost Blockland ServersReturn to Blockland Dedicated - HostingCBMBLHostKaphost costs less and might be slightly more reliable, however Return to Blockland is more user-friendly.
Your pick.
I have no experience with CBMBLHost, so don't ask about that.
Picking Add-Ons:- Make sure they're RTB supported or you might get a virus or find out it doesn't work right.
- Try to pick the more well-known add-ons or users who join your server will be all like, "WTF is this thing?"
- Test them before you host.
Also, only the add-ons that
need to be enabled in order for the server to work right.
No extra pointless add-ons.
The more add-ons you have, the longer a user will have to wait till they spawn.
Building and Eventing:If your not good with building, try to find people who are that can help.
Someone like me might be able to help with events, unless your fine with them.
Never build "crap-builds". The server's build(s) is what a lot of times attracts players.
Pay attention to detail!
Super Administrators, Administrators and Moderators:I don't recommend having an admin application. People can easily lie.
Try to pick people you know and can surely trust.
If you do use an application, make sure it's DETAILED.
You don't want the person who you're about to make admin to turn out to be just a troll who banned everyone.
I recommend you use the
Moderator add-on.
That way you can have users who help host the server but at the same time can't abuse their power if you're still not too sure about them.
That's all the advise I can give you.
Also, remember, the user is always right.Apparently, I'm wrong.
The user is not always right,
