Modification Help / Re: Brick ID

%client.wrenchBrick (or something similarly named) is set to the brick you are editing and any changes to a brick that isn't the brick set in that property won't work.

158
These aren't natural.
They're allowed to be user-implemented.. look at the other languages.

Assertions are a way of breaking out of code when there is an error or an unexpected input. Some languages throw exceptions and some treat it as a break point.
It has to manually break out of code when there is an unexpected error. It's an assertion in English semantics, but not in the traditional way that page is describing.

"Real constants and functions"

  • E: $e = 2.71828
  • Pi: $pi = 3.14159 (not always defined)
  • Natural Logarithm: mLow(x) / mLog($e)
  • Base 10 Logarithm: mLog(x)
  • Exponential: mPow($e, x)
  • Exponentiation: mPow(x, y)
  • Exponentiation Modulo: mPow(x, y) % z
"Assertion":

Code: [Select]
if ( !expression )
{
    // possibly display an error
    // error( x );

    return;
    // instead, possibly return a value to parent function to abort as well
    // return x;
}
This doesn't meet the definition of the assertion on the page.

because they aren't possible?
because they are too stupid?

what do you mean

Not Considered

These tasks are not generally counted toward "unimplemented", as somebody, somewhere, decided that TorqueScript was inappropriate for these tasks, or implementations of them would be unenlightening. Feel free to try your hand at them anyway.
"OpenGL"
"Random number generator (device)"
etc.

MD5 and a lot of other things on the page can't be natively implemented because Torque's number system is too stuff for them (you can however use hacks to have bigger numbers with strings, but you won't be able to have a clean snippet to post), so they should also be not considered.

162
25% of those tasks should be not considered.

No 99% chance is just 100% but there's the case that there's that one freaky occurance that it didn't work that we can't account for.

It's like hand sanitizer killes 99.99% of germs.>.>
If one million people were to use a condom with a 99% success rate, it would fail 10000 times. That's still a loving lot. Even more so with germs. If you have a billion germs on your hands, there's still 100000 left.

1. If you made a mistake of creating a child, then you should at least give the child away to a child adoption agency. You know, the semi responsible thing?
2. I'm pretty sure its not up to us if a child would rather die or go through a life of hating/suffering etc.
3. Like I said, The godless part meant that when crime is so rampant that people rape each other left and right.
4. Everyone suffers some what, you can't just go through this life not suffering. By the way, totaly not justifing rape, even though some one will asume/say I am.
5. Horrible things happen to people in order to punish the wicked. We all have our agency, and some times the innocent must suffer, but there reward will be far greater in the end.
1. That is a good decision to make, but it should be a decision to make.
2. The child can't make decisions yet.
3. It implied you were bringing God into this, the way you used it. I am sorry if you weren't.
4. Yes, but it depends on the context. If you are bringing God into this, a benevolent being would not allow one particular person to suffer a massive blow while the rest of the people trudge through with a massive salary in their life. Even if you're not bringing God into this, suffering can be removed by giving someone the choice to abort their baby. It should be a choice.
5. Yep, the reward will be being part of the very universe that you exist in currently, floating throughout nature as the atoms of other life, stars and planets.
