Off Topic / Re: Who was the worst person in Blockland's history?
« on: June 30, 2016, 06:37:20 AM »
it's so weird that i used to be really good friends with him
I would say fungusamongus but I seem to remember being mates with him or someone related to him, I don't seem to remember him causing any large trouble to me.

I'd say Vertizer as you lot said. That's forgeted up.
fungusamongus

Fungus really? He was one of my best buddies way back when and I can't remember him getting on anyone's bad side, did he do something? I caught up with him slightly through steam a few months ago and he still seemed nice as ever.

The only names I remember getting mad at were Otis, Tezuni, and Lord Tony but it was all pointless arguments where I was in the wrong as a silly kid. I don't remember any infamous Blockland Riddlers really. Though if I had to put money down on numbers I'd say Badspot has probably made the most people angry.
I remember not liking Iban but I couldn't tell you why now.

What makes me sad is that this game looks like something for children when I look at it. I'd probably think the same about blockland if I didn't have such an emotional investment in it.
Well... it IS Lego, there's only so much they can do to adult-ify it while keeping to their target audience: children. I'm surprised at the relative complexity and control over building and the environment, I'm not so sure children will get a hold of that so easily.

I've only seen the trailer and Nerd3's video on it and from that it looks like right now it's pre-built vehicles only that you can spawn but can't build on, but I have only seen two videos so if it's already in, NDGOTY 2012

The thing I want most from this game, more than anything else, is the ability to build my own vehicles. Maybe have it where you select what you're going to build so it can give you the right bricks like "Boat, Submarine, Plane, Helicopter, Car, Tank, Crawler" or something along those lines, maybe the ability to crossover to make a car-plane, or tank-boat too. Then when you have your vehicle-of-choice chosen it'll give you thrust pieces or wing slabs. Ever since Kalphiter released that Box Train addon that looked perfect to build upon I've wanted a Lego thing where I can just build and mess around with my own vehicles.

A first person mode would be nice as well for exploring interiors, as Blockland has proven. This game looks like it has a lot of potential and I'm excited to see what it's like when it hits full release.
But of course I'm buying it the very instant I have money in my Steam wallet.

Alright let's see If I still remember quoting and formating.
rtb being dead is kind of a big one. we're also now in disney's hands.
RTB dead. Huh. I guess Blockland's on Steam now so RTB isn't massively needed. I guess it doesn't really matter to me though, I haven't played the game in a long time, I tried to but couldn't get into it as I could before, that and not keeping up with the popular addons meant all not-Badspot servers had like 2,000 things to download.
Disney? Feel like I would have heard about that, even not keeping up.

The Bedroom is back as a Static Map

Blockland has over 100k IDs i think, though only around half of it is active, it was recently on sale for $4.99

An update of some kind is planned that involves hats and some other things, but nothing much has been said, the last update was in February

There was a 'Blockland on Steam' celebration server where dozens of players made a tower

Then during Kalphiter's New Years server, everything Blockland was getting DDoS'd, then much later, Ephi decided he was gonna shut down RTB because of the DDoSing, and Blockland's Steam release being an overall flop, so he decided to stop wasting his time and money here and took off
Ahhh awesome, Bedroom back, sort of, I'll have to check that out.
Hats? If I recall there's already a good addon that covers that.
Ephialtes scrapping RTB due to DDoS and Steam release flop, that's sort of depressing but a bit expected... which is even more depressing.

All in all I've missed some, but not as much as I'd thought. Sort of seems like the golden years are behind us.
My memory sucks, I THINK I remember Ephi being a big role in Blockland development (Maybe not, don't remember, I swear he was a big moderator or something), did he just leave all Blockland stuff when cutting RTB?

Taboo was banned and came back as Kishgal
At least we get to be in Kingdom Hearts.
Oh, hi Taboo.

So I haven't been on these forums for at bit over a year, can't remember the last time I even started a topic. Last I remember I would occasionally revisit and see how things were, make a couple spaced posts, different from the daily-forum user I was. This was the only forum I ever invested myself into as well.
ANYWAY I was looking through my past posts, sort of jumping around from start to mid to end and goddamn was I a stupid kid. It makes me cringe looking over all those posts, all the relentless out of place smileys, the repeated bad memes and jokes, the failure to grasp the humor or insult of any user slightly more mature than me...
It looks I was most active during middleschool and it eventually slowed down and stopped somewhere in highschool, but I'm up in university now, hundreds of miles away from home and it's sort of nice and nostalgic going over the posts though. How many IDs does this game have now? 40k? 50k? Probably a lot of my old forums buddies have long abandoned the forums, but from a quick skim a few of the big names are still kicking around.

I'm not quite sure why I made this thread topic, whatever it's called here, I don't remember. Just a bit nostalgic and forumsick I guess I don't know.
Does Badspot still work on Blockland? Maps back? Big updates? Any ancients still milling around the forums? Idunno, bring me up to speed.

For a game that's in Alpha, this is amazing. Are they planning to add a multiplayer aspect to it?

Being that I can't find any other article anywhere claiming he has died, paired with the fact that that article isn't on Yahoo = less than factual.

They still make those?
I like the review videos that use them as kitchen knives. They truly are useful tools.

This looks amazing. The stop-motiony feel to it, the characters, the cast, the not-targeted-at-five-year-olds-ness to it, I'm very excited.
The trailer gave me some nostalgic too with "1980s something space guy"and other minifigs in the background.
Maybe they could throw some of the profits from this movie into a bigger, better Lego Universe revival (hint hint, nudge nudge)

Edit: Skull Candy and Tetris, I love your avatars. 1980s-something Space Guy is going to be the face of this movie.

Games / Re: what do you guys think about the new xbox one?
« on: June 19, 2013, 10:51:35 PM »
I'm glad Microsoft learned from their mistakes before they released the console, but something startled me when I learned the news: I play games on my computer and own an Xbox 360, but rarely play it, only to play GTA IV or Red Dead Redemption if I'm bored, and have drifted away from that seeing as I didn't want to renew my Xbox Live subscription; and I was following the PS4 and Xbox One press releases, mocking Microsoft's policies and siding with PS4 even though I didn't have any plans to purchase either console, but when Microsoft released their changes to the Xbox One I subconsciously thought "Oh, I should consider buying that."

Of course I still won't buy it BUT:

What if it was Microsoft's plan all along to create such an unbelievably strict console, then come out with their new lenient changes to reach out to non-console gamers like myself, and secretly implant "Hey, they made the stuffty thing not stuffty, you should look into that" into our minds. Clever clever.

Go to a GameStop with an attractive female at the counter, buy a $50 Steam Wallet card, spend the remaining $10 on the female's phone number.
