this doesn't work. At all. Do I have to press a button or something? Because simply jumping/landing on someone's head doesn't do stuff.

Here are my settings:
Stomping Enabled: Yes
Mini-Game Only: Yes
Stun Time: 1.500
Stomp Bounce: 1
Minimum Stomp Force: 1
Minimum Stomp Kill Force: 1

Nothing happens, and yes I'm in a minigame. Tried with a bot, doesn't work either

Slippery playertype
http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=64852.0

I like the idea but I'd like it to be adaptive to the playertype.
As in: if the playertype has jets, the slippery playertype should have jets too.
Also same health, speed properties, energy, ...

Which means making it change playertype may not be the way to go.

Well, thanks a lot for the playertype! I didn't even know it existed

I think you should be more specific if you want to see it happen. Do you just want a vehicle that's a ball? Do you want some that attracts vehicles? Be more precise.

Suggestions & Requests / Ice Bricks
« on: August 08, 2014, 08:59:52 PM »
This may already exist. If it does, please link it to me.

Almost every single video game has it. Ice. Slippery ice. Ice that you can slide on. Ice that if you walk on, and let go of the W button, will not make you suddenly stop, but will make you slide in the direction you were going until you lose the momentum. I'm sure if you ever played a Mario game you know what I mean.

I think this add-on would be very useful for people who are building platforming maps or simply ice maps. The add-on could be
- A brick that has those "ice properties"
- An event that determines which bricks have the "ice properties"
- An event using "ZoneEvents"
- A playertype designed to be slippery.

Acceleration should be hard to gain, but it should also be hard to stop the character once he started to walk. It needs to be very different from the standard way of walking in Blockland, which makes the character go from being completely idle to going at maximum speed in a fraction of a second.
If someone could please make this, it would be pretty awesome. :)

Help / Re: How do i use shadows?
« on: July 03, 2014, 12:26:28 PM »
you want to blame badspot for using some neat functionality that some of the better graphics cards support?
if you only did what the worst can handle, you wouldn't have a game rendering the way it is now, it would probably be text based on a command line

No this is just ridiculous, and we should blame the devs. This isn't a functionality that is demanding a good graphic card, this is a functionality that is picky about your graphic card. I can run, for exemple, L4D2 with max settings at a 2k resolution and still get good framerate, yet blockland shadows are just too much for my computer. Absolute bullstuff.

Help / Re: Blockland Steam Mac no saves
« on: June 30, 2014, 01:42:21 PM »
I found the solution the solution. So if anyone else is wondering, here's own to fix it.

For some reason, the file called "blockland" in the steamapps folder is broken or something. By replacing it with a functioning blockland launcher for macs, it works.

You need to go to your blockland folder (library/applicationsupport/steam/steamapps/common/blockland)
There should be a file simply called "blockland"    delete it.
Go to the blockland.us website and download the demo for mac. Put it in the folder you just opened. Place it there, and rename it as "Blockland".
So basically, you are just replacing the steam file with a new one.

I simply downloaded Blockland off steam, so there shouldn't be anything wrong with my files. And yes I saved, and I'm doing it right. As I said, I've been owning this game for a couple of years. Also, shaders are completely disabled for the mac-steam version, so for some reason they are set on max, but they don't show up.

Help / Blockland Steam Mac no saves
« on: June 28, 2014, 12:33:39 PM »
Alright, so I've had blockand on mac for a few years now, but I've recently bought the Steam version, for Mac again.

So I've had the same issues as everybody at first; every time I started playing the game asked me to input my preferences about mouse, keyboard and internet connexion even thought I already did it. The game would also tell me that my preferences couldn't be saved. I did what everybody told me: I copied the config and client files from my original blockland folder (in documents) to my steam blockland folder (library/steam/steamapps/common/blockland) which fixed that problem, or so I thought.

Blockland now has my preferences. But It appears that the problem was not that the Steam version of Blockland on Mac can't save preferences, the problem is that the Steam version of Blockland on Mac can't save anything.

I start a singleplayer server, I build something, I save it, it reacts normally, but then it's not saved. It does not appear in the saves list when I click on the load button or save button. If I clear bricks or if I want to work on my construction later on, I can't load it. It's lost forever.
Also, if I enable add-ons, they won't appear in-game. And the next time I will go to the add-on selection menu, the add-ons I enabled earlier would have been disabled, as if I never enabled them in the first place.

So I can't save anything and I can't use add-ons. Wow. Those are seriously 2 game-breaking issues. Please, if someone has a solution or any explanation to why this problem is, please write it down in the comments. This is serious.
Also, please don't give me that "the solution is not to buy overpriced aluminium boxes" bullstuff. My Mac has no problems besides from Blockland and I have no intentions to replace it just for one game.
