I don't think people here don't know well enough about the fine line between a spanking and a beating. It makes me think that they think we're taking baseball bats to their rear-ends.

nope. it doesn't matter what you say, it teaches them that violence is a solution.

Do you have anything to back that up? I don't solve my problems by resorting to violence at all. Most of the friends I grew up with in similar household standards have not done so. I think there are more factors to this that you are overlooking.

it's abuse not only because it's physical pain, but more importantly, because it teaches your kid that violence will solve their problems

What it teaches your kid depends on what the parent says after the spanking. Kids aren't dogs who can only learn simple patterns through repeated conditioning. You must always and should always tell your children why they were spanked should you ever use that form of discipline. Give them a little more credit.

Statistcally it'd probably be "no" because they haven't experienced the benefits it brings. A lack of understanding by peering through a window and never walking through the door can lead to some shallow opinions.

No drama needed. Drama requires the user to be problematic and outright unbearable, and most of the time it needs to be related in-game. Nonnel is just someone who has a strong opinion, something which we shouldn't be bothered about.
