Help / Re: Question about v20 and add-ons...
« on: October 20, 2011, 01:34:44 PM »
Lolwut,
Everything in the documents for blockland is in a single folder titled "Blockland" nothing should be randomly floating in your documents
No worries! This has been resolved. I looked further in and there was a hidden Blockland folder. I transferred my old add-ons there.
But the reason why I thought that was I had all the standard BL files in there, mixed with sounds... all I did was sort by date and delete lol.
Thanks though!

Help / Question about v20 and add-ons...
« on: October 20, 2011, 01:19:39 PM »
Been playing Blockland since 2009, and I was really confused about where the add-ons went since v20 came out...
So I did some research and found out that they're in my Documents, okay, that's cool and all...
BUT THE FILES ARE ALL SCATTERED ABOUT WITH MY SCHOOLWORK AND NECESSARY DOCUMENTS!!
Is there any way to pick a specific add-ons folder, or is this going to be a pain for eternity?

Off Topic / Re: Jedi Knight 3 Jedi academy

I've played this game since '04. It's really good for a Star Wars game... the Quake 3 engine was put to good use.

JUDGE AFTER PLAYING, NOT BEFORE.

Sadly, the community is dying... -sigh-
JK3 is retiring, slowly but surely.

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Zombie Beacon
« on: January 02, 2010, 02:15:00 PM »
There's a Set-Zombie-Target event or something but I don't know how to use it

=/
onPlayer(whatever the hell they do)>bot>setTarget(or is it destination? Something like that... maybe moveTo)>(BRICK_NAME)
I don't know if that's right or even close, but I think it requires the bot events made recently. :/

Anybody know a good scripter? We need to lower some polys and get this operation running.
(Sorry for the double post.)
All the best are busy, the good are tired, the average are learning, and the bad are bad. :/
I wish I could do scripting. Or even modeling. All I can do is suggest ideas and work with people.
I like this idea and the model up there. (|^|^|^|)

Aren't Jets good enough?
Quote from: No, FROHman Elite!
... Are skiis not good enough?
What's with your "Aren't (insert objects here) good enough?" Seriously.
Although, I will admit, I could care less personally for the wings... unless if it were just a player type for maybe fantasy minis, or whatever. I prefer the jets.
But if this is made, I'll definitely get it. :3

Please do not post in all or half red. It can really get annoying, and there's no point.
Sounds cool, what version was it in?
(Off Topic) The red really is annoying.
(On topic) I'd never heard of this map before, but it sounds nice. It's a great idea for mining servers and such.

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Night vision
« on: January 02, 2010, 02:00:59 PM »
This sounds cool. and might not be hard to do. I'll see what i can do.
You're right, it does sound very possible. Client sided and only visible to that client would be cool. The problem being that if you're suggesting it be a light (like your standard ones) it'd have to be so big, causing the client lag. However, if you're intending to change the HUD a different color, making it seem like night vision, THAT sounds a lot more difficult to me. Sorry to say.
Also, on my own part, I would like to say if this project were to come to be...
I'D DL FIRST HOUR IT'S OUT. :D

Suggestions & Requests / Re: SnowBoard
« on: January 02, 2010, 01:57:28 PM »
try to use the hover board script for now dude.
. . .
You'd have to take off the wheels, ya know, then add in the ski script for movement without wheels as well. Or at least, I think it moves without wheels... o.o"

Help / Re: HELP! Port forwarding with Verizon FiOS! (Big problem)
« on: January 02, 2010, 05:22:30 AM »
Have you tried http://portforward.com/?
Yes, I have, but after HOURS of tedious toying, I found it out on my own because not much else worked. I just took different ideas from different guides. Thanks for being one of the few who viewed, let alone posted. :P

(Sorry for second post!)
I have a picture of the setup on the router... is it right? And can anyone correct me if it's wrong?

Help / HELP! Port forwarding with Verizon FiOS! (Big problem)
« on: January 02, 2010, 02:08:56 AM »
"Port forwarding is easy! Here's the link to so-and-so's guide."
"Thanks!"
*Ten minutes later...*
"What the Hell is this? I have FiOS!! THIS IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!!"
*I go to Blockland forums, searching for a solution.*
"No one on the forums is experiencing the same problem... but!"
*I find someone who needs the same problem solved.*
"Wow, I think I'll reply and bump so we can get some help!"
*"Topic too old"*
"...Now what?"
*I post a new topic, giving a small story as to the confusion of forwarding ports with FiOS.*
"Maybe someone will actually help me."

...That's right, readers. I probably speak for a good handful of people when I say "WTF, Port Forwarding on Verizon FiOS?" The same problems to be solved, with ABSOLUTE different interfaces and no idea how to use them. While I don't have the money to get an auto port-forwarder for ONE game. Seriously, this is annoying the hell out of me that I can't host games for my clan, LET ALONE myself. Does anybody have a clue as to what I can do, or BETTER YET a guide to doing this with FiOS? Please?

Add-Ons / Re: Simple Crosshair Edit
« on: January 02, 2010, 12:28:58 AM »
I like the idea. It makes the crosshair more accurate when not zooming. The fact that there was nothing in the center of the default crosshair drove me crazy because I couldn't get an accurate shot with a weapon whilst not zooming.
Thanks.
(ALSO)
Could anyone tell me which program I should use to make my own crosshairs? I'm just not sure what to use.

Add-Ons / Re: Realistic Combat Player!
« on: January 02, 2010, 12:24:22 AM »
No.
Smoke didn't post an opinion, he posted what he thought would make him look cool, which failed.
(Off Topic) I'm not trying to bring this back up, but I read through the WHOLE damn flame... it's hard to say why the hell it ACTUALLY started, but let's be happy it's over. I'm not trying to play Ghandi either, .::Taboo::..
(On Topic) I do like this idea, I always see ideas like this and have the enthusiasm to do them, but I am worthless when it comes to scripting and such. Like you guys have said, all the big scripters are busy as hell out there. Give 'em a break, and try to learn good scripting. I'm taking that advice myself, so that I can help in projects such as this.
Headshots are notorious for killing instantly, HOWEVER, I think that since it IS possible to survive a headshot, why not make the damage fluctuate from 90-100? It's only logical that people can survive, so why not give them a chance? Besides, if someone takes a few hits they're going to die from one anyways, right?
