Help / Re: I can't open up blockland and play!
« on: September 22, 2010, 04:45:34 PM »
I unlocked for a special reason.
This now only happens when I'm not connected to the internet.
I upgraded to windows seven beeyotch.

You could probably just put it on a jump drive.
Possibly.
It shouldn't take a few hours to install Windows 7, unless you are doing advanced things with Partitions. You also don't need 300 gigs, your Blockland folder probably isn't near that big. Mine is just barley 1.
Barely*
BTW, I checked my addons folder which was suprisingly 1,074,376,523 bytes. (about 1 gig for all you simpltons out there)
BTW, all my files on blockland to do this were 1,250,535,288 bytes alltogether. About a 176,158,756 byte difference.

Il laugh if you cant fit all your files into the flashdrive/disk/whatevercrapyouhave.
Same xD
i just did that yesterday funnily enough but when i did it i just went into C:\program files and dragged the blockland folder onto my second hard drive. format. install OS. Job Done!
I could possibly remember that as an easier way to do it.

You will need:
Your Computer
External Hard Drive with about half a terra byte or like, 300 gigs of space.
Other operating system
Some patience.
What happened to me? I was running Windows XP on my computer (fortunatly for school), and I was sopposed to upgrade to Windows 7. I did.
1. Get all the stuff you need.
2. Plug the External Hard Drive into your computer.
3. Open up the Blockland Properties (see How To Get To Blockland Properties at bottom of page)
4. Open up your External Hard Drive folder.
5. Copy (CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the Addons, base, config, saves, and screenshots folder into the ETHD (External Hard Drive). This might take a while.
6. MAKE SURE YOU DISABLE THE HARD DRIVE BEFORE TAKING IT OUT OF YOUR COMPUTER!
7. Ask the Blockland Support for your Blockland key. Wait for your key to arrive in your E-Mail.
8. You may now install the new OS. I do not know how to do this xD. However this WILL take a few hours.
9. Go to the blockland homepage (blockland.us) and download and install Blockland.
10. Open up your Blockland Properties.
11. Open up your ETHD file.
12. In the Blockland Properties, delete the Addons, base, config, saves, and screenshots folders.
13. Take all the Blockland files and CopyPaste them into the Blockland Properties.
14. This is where step 7 is needed. Open up blockland and set all your settings, and then enter your Blockland Auth key and click Unlock.
15.The final thing you need to do is close blockland and open it back up again.
How to get to the Blockland Properties:
1. Right click the Blockland icon on your desktop. Click Properties. Now click Find Target. Boom your done.

I hope this has helped your as much as it did me. Have fun!

This would constitute a problem with your actual computer instead of with Blockland.
Perhaps.
You got three options for success.
1. Scan for viruses
2. Re-download blockland
3. Wait for the issue to fix itself, which most likely never happen.
My friend had this issue with Windows 98, but he ended up fixing it.
I already did scan. TWICE INFACT.
I won't want to re-download Blockland unless I put my Key.DAT file, Addon file (I have tons!), saves file, screenshots... You know. And I already have to do that because I use my school laptop (the only computer I own) to play most games and it's getting updated. I have to backup all my files and I need to fix this issue right away. I hope that number 3 will happen o.o

It's connected to my IP. I usually connect with a wireless thing that I plug into my computer, and it's on that IP, but my dad put it with a wired internet and it worked o.o (different IP)
I'm not allowed to host while connected to the router VIA wire, only with the wireless plug-in thing, so if you can help me, please do.

Help / I can't open up blockland and play!
« on: August 12, 2010, 01:28:04 PM »
I can't play blockland because whenever I open Blockland up it closes after a few seconds. I don't know why though.
The day that it happened, my mother told me about a virus she had. It was a virus that closes any application she opened and shut down all her virus protection.
It got to her by her downloading it. She has a Gmail account and had set google to find her anti-virus stuff. Once she clicked it avast! (her anti-virus software) yelled at her not to download it, but she did anyway.
My mom also said that viruses can come from downloading addons too. I usually download from the RTB Mod Manager, so that isn't the problem. I used to use avast! too, but I usually use Spybot - S&D. As I type I'm running a scan, but if you can tell me what the hell is going on, much abliged man. I CAN'T PLAY BLOCKLAND!

Help / Re: Server problems.
« on: February 21, 2010, 03:03:27 PM »
Please properly read my post. There are multiple reasons for "---". UPnP/Portforwarding is not completed, server is no longer active, firewall is blocking connection. Check these things.
AH HA!
I THINK I KNOW WHY MY SERVER IS "---"!!!
During v11-v13, I attempted to forward my ports on my Belkin router.
PortForwarding on my router is impossible.
Trust me.
So that could be it.
I have UPnP enabled.
PS:
@Zenloth
I IRCed my friend if he was really sure if he had UPnP enabled.
He said yes.
Still can't join.
Still need help.

Most people shouldn't have to port forward (feel sorry for the Airport users out there). The new system we are using instead of the direct port>port is called UPnP (universal plug and play). I won't go into details on what this means, but basically, your router does the hard work for you when a program utilities this feature.

Most routers have this feature, however it seems a large majority of these come with it defaulted as OFF. So you will need to enable it, you can do this via the web interface of your router normally and just look for the "UPnP settings" or something.
If your router does not support UPnP you can always port forward.

TL;DR
If your friends can join your server - You need to change nothing
If you can't join their server - They need to enable UPnP
(Could be other causes however this is most likely)
Servers may show as "---" after they are shut down, this is how the server list works, it will not instantly get rid of a server when it can't contact it (as far as I know).

FYI, my server is up and it's "---"
Servers that used to say "dead" now have those dashes, to compare it to a previous version.
Most server aren't dead and they have "---"
I voted RAWR do I get a prize?
Sorry, no.

Help / Server problems.
« on: February 20, 2010, 05:59:25 PM »
I heard from badspot that on V14 you didn't have to forward ports.
That is true.
However, most of the servers have "---"
What is up with that?
Plus, my friends can join my server, just I can't join theirs when other people can.
What is going on?
Please tell me what is going on.
I want to be able to join my friends server.
Help?
My name is RayDeo and I approve this message.
