it's really boxy imo, and there's a lot of unused space

I recommend starting with the interior then going on the exterior. also, pick more colors for the exterior.

I don't see the point of building an interior without something for it to fill, but that's what's going to fill the unused space in the future.

The boxines, yeah I know. I've been trying over-time to cut that down but still keep the style I like.

And as for colors I'm not too sure. I'll probably have more of the navy-blue highlights and there'll be more shiny bits for sure, but I don't want to use too many colors. I dunno, I guess it's just my style.

So the old topic got to old because I'm a bell end, but here's a link to the original for an introduction. http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=268007.msg7915517#msg7915517

Now. May I present

The U.N.C.F Leviathan Bigger, Bolder Update

As you can see I added a lot more, as I said I would, and even changed the bottom bit. Since it was originally going to be a space station I just had those huge platforms keeping it afloat, but now I've changed that. This is the "Rib Cage" pattern I've started using on some ships, it's supposed to simulate a way to make a massive ship roll or stabilize in space. I got the idea of the look from the Ishimura from Deadspace. I'm still working on a version that I REALLY like, but these are what I'm using for now.

Here's a view from the maintenance walkway inside of that rib cage.

I'll be adding ways to get from one end to the other while still on the walkway. At each area where the walkway goes past a rib, there's a console. Shown below. Subject to change.

I'll go ahead and stuff out a bunch of pictures of details and updates, then talk about other important bits.

That shapely design at the top.

The outer end of an unfinished airlock. The light is either lit up green when it's available, or red when someone is inside and the door can't be opened. Or at least it will be when I actually get to the airlocks.

Like I said. I like random details. That doesn't actually do anything, it's just a fuse box, or maintenance box, and some random valve.

Better console.

Other update.

That actually is on blink or whatever that flashing special paint is.

A view from an odd angle at a random spot that I'll add to overlooking a large balcony for people to stand on that I'm gonna fill in. The airlock door from earlier opens out onto that.

Here is a better view of that balcony.

Now don't ask me why in the hell I did a few details inside when I haven't even finished the outside. I don't know. I like to.

Here's some guns!

The observation deck is gonna be directly over the big gun. You'll see it eventually, got a good idea for it.

And here is just something I like.

If you're not close to the console, it appears mostly inactive [yes I used the forunner consoles, but forget it it looks cool]

If you get close, the console activates and you can use it. It also plays a sound and lights up.
I got the idea when I saw that in Mass Effect and wondered how I could replicate it in Blockland.

That's all for now, hopefully I have more sooner.

Once again, feedback or ideas are welcome. My ingame name is AndrewCPrice, BLID 150258 (sadly not 15565 anymore)

i don't want hands
Jesus loving Christ, dude calm down. You don't have to say all that stuff, a simple "I don't want hands" or something would have been fine.

I'll be adding more details to the outside. And fun fact, it was originally going to be a space station. It'll look more like a ship when it's closer to done.

6
All of that is already on the list of things to add, like I said I haven't been working on it for very long. It's just a skeleton right now

7
Before I begin this post, let me add a bit of backstory. If you'd rather just see the images, it's pretty easy to spot when they start.

I'm writing a Sci-Fi book called "Last One Out, Get The Lights" in order to help visualize my areas and settings I like to build physical representations here in Blockland. Mostly it's been ships for the main military in the book, the United Nations Contingency Force [U.N.C.F]. This specific topic is being made because I finally feel like I'm doing a project worthy of the forums and the gallery.

A little about me, hopefully to help you understand what this project might become.

My biggest Sci-Fi inspirations are Halo, Mass Effect, and Star Trek. I have a very specific vision of the future and that goes into my book.

I love details, I add a lot of interactive details into all of my builds. Usually towards the end, but a lot of them are added during the initial process.

I love big projects, but not just that I love having things to do in them. From making coffee, to flushing the toilets to activating security systems or turning off the engines, I love making my builds interactive. [This specific one probably won't have interactive engines though]

I will spend hours or days eventing to make something just right. I'm not the best in the world, but I'm very clever with eventing. I love making complex airlocks or security systems, bots to add life to the build, etc.

But anyways. On to the good stuff. Now I could have taken the time to resize the screen shots but I'm lazy as stuff. Maybe in the future I'll do it and update all these pictures. But for now, may I present.

The U.N.C.F Leviathan

Now keep in mind, "this is section one" so to speak, it's going to be two floors and then there's going to be a second section up top to add a better shape and more detail to the work (AS WELL AS AIRLOCKS AND HANGARS WOO). Section two will be either two floors or three.

Up next is a show of my doors. The reactor door. It plays noise when you click it, the lights flash blue really quick and then green for as long as the door is open, then they turn off when it closes.

And now for just a few fun images.

(The keypad beeps!)

I actually did not make that, somebody left it basically in my ship, if whoever built this is out there. Thank you. Seriously. It turns on and off, was supposed to play noise but I took that out and left in the interactive feature of... MAKING LIGHTS HAPPEN.

A console.

But if you go near it, it activates. (I'm actually just about to make it glow the appropriate color while it's activate)

And The Captain with all of his one crew member.

That's all for now, I've just started and this is mostly just the shell. I have a weird way of building. CONSTRUCTIVE criticism is welcome, but keep in mind that I am adding details everywhere to fill in any awkward shapes and such constantly and the factor that I'm building it by myself, because that's the way i like to build.

EDIT: My in-game name is Andrew Price. If you'd like to join my server and see this for yourself, it's the "Sci-Fi Freeplay Server"

Help / Re: Problem with door events/saving?

It's like that because those doors were given up on long ago, everybody is making/using .blb doors now.
Damn. I guess I'll join the party.

Bumping because I'd really like to try and fix this problem.

If it helps, this is a new account, old ID was 15565 and almost all of my addons are just my backup addons from around the time RTB was still a thing

Help / Problem with door events/saving?

First off I'm sorry if there's already a post for this, I couldn't find one.

So I'm working on a ship in my server, lots of doors of course, and you know how every door has those pre-done events for toggling and sounds? Well every time I load my save, those pre-done events are stacked onto whatever events I have put it. It's really loving annoying, and if there's any help to be given it would be appreciated.

Hello, Scartail. I am still alive, and well. My computer has decided it is homolove and won't run Blockland (or anything really) without blue-screening. I should have a new computer sooner or later, and will be getting back to Blockland as soon as it's running, and I have it installed.

EDIT: If you could tell Jake White, SWATone (or Tuevon, I think his new name is) and any other old friends of mine I will be back on in a few months, I would greatly appreciate it.

Griffball? As in Red vs Blue? I think I can whip something up, and throw in a funny easter egg if it is from RVB
