I believe he was talking about the fact verbs can be masculine and feminine, and express itself as I, you, them, they, us, etc. But this actually makes the grammar in the language easier.
For example, in English, we say "I eat". In Spanish, you can say "Yo como", however the "Yo" is unneeded. Because "Como" ends with an "O", the person knows you are addressing yourself as the subject. Therefore "Como" means the same as "I eat". c:
That's not different words then, just the same word with different inflections.
