how do you prepose avoiding bricks? you can't do any sort of culling at all if you can't read information on where each brick is and how large it is.

and with HOM you can remove up to 95% of the objects in a high density scene (such as the afore-mentioned 1x1 castle)

exactly, for example Zhang's HOM algorithm is generally considered an excellent algorithm for occlusion culling that needs to be recalculated every frame.

Can you be a bit more specific as to the disadvantages of Torque 1.4?
I am currently using Torque 1.4 in my own project, and I wanted to know what made you stick with 1.3.

1.4 doesnt run on win9x systems.  :(

no offense, but why run a win9x? Torque runs on Linux based systems fine, and with wine, you can run all your old programs, a lot of the new ones, and its free. and most of the programs that wont run have open source equivalents that you can download.

are there any features that 1.3 has that 1.4 doesnt?

I don't get this at all. they're just remaking Vanilla blockland Exactly the was it is now. I'm pretty sure that they pressed Ctrl+V more than a couple times. Now, stop me if i'm wrong but isn't that kind of infringing on copyrights?
every script is being reimplemented from scratch. and if you  haven't noticed it isn't a remake because vanilla bl doesnt allow tbm.

even if it wasnt all copy and paste, or any at all if they rewrote all original script...

in general the entire game concept was ripped off straight from here. no amount of changes or new features could hide the obvious fact.

and yet still no one has been sued by Lego....

vanilla uses 1.2

so it should still surpass Vanilla0002 easily, and have fewer bug in the engine. ;)

Sadly TGE 1.4 is inferior to 1.3 in many ways.  I'm using 1.3

is Vanilla0002 using 1.3 as well?

I would probably buy retail, but I dont have money.

I think that TBG probably will get far enough to replace the vannila blockland exe, but getting the lag fixes that the retail has, I doubt TBG will make it that far, though  tbm does have talented coders.

whats Vanilla BL 0002? Torque 1.2 or 1.3? I know both TBG and Retail or going to be 1.4 so it should easily surpass Vanilla.

TBM=
IRC
Editing with a Popup box
Bricks

RTB=
Poor copy of IRC
Limmited Editing with a Popup box
poorly modeled bricks

RTB does copy TBM. Maybe if RTB would admit their wrong doings and TBM admitted theirs (whatever that fake exploit was), then there would be mod wars no longer. And Mocheeze, you may not steal the script, but how is it that you have the exact same ideas as TBM, just after they make it?
I'm not going to get into a pissing contest over some mods for a freeware game, sorry. The users have made their decision, I don't have to defend their choice. I'm just honored they chose to play something that I was lucky enough to work on.

And BTW, people that play RTB are probably more mad at TBM because the people that make it are pompous richards, and write scripts to specifically attack the RTB users' servers. If TBM people would just go and play TBM, and leave everyone alone, then nobody would have any reason to keep on disliking them.

Have fun with TBG, it's going to probably be a petty mess like TBM has been since its beginning.

1) TBM has admitted their's time and time again.
2) It attacked AiO, not RTB, and it didn't work.
3) It was removed
4) Freeware game? Blockland isn't really even that anymore. TBG will be.
5) If anyone who attacks TBM can honestly say that they have played TBM at least 3 times and didn't like it, then they might be taken seriously.

Anyways, if you're so above it then just drop the subject. Surely these forums shouldn't have to talk about the piece of   that is TBG...

lmao

oh so all you wanted was to whore out more of this stupid mod drama. making it worse and worse for people to accept it.

again i say to a TBM'er, this is how you represent your mod? by showing others the bad parts of your community?

I find this amusing. none of you know anything about me, but because I posted a link to a discussion of another block related game I get flamed.

how is wanting freedom the bad part of a community?
how is flame wars and acknowledged stealing of other's code the good part?
Quote
RTB may steal ideas but they're allowed to as your crummy mod has broken the rules.

and interestingly enough this has drawn more people to inquire TBM/G since they dont want to have to pay for a game thats been free for a long time.

I'm actually not sure why elfprince posted it. Perhaps a few TBMers will stay if they prefer to play retail as well.

to see what the reaction was.
