anyway, you should check those 2 techniques out, they're still very good to know, eventhough it's a hobby.

« on: January 29, 2012, 11:33:06 AM »the drums don't really need anything added, trying to emphasize the melody here.if you listen to electronic music, you'll notice how beat sounds overall better. there's a technique called layering.
layering is simple stacking samples on top of each other to make it sounds better.
for example:
- snare + clap
- hi hat + kick (+ add some sub if it lacks)
the melody is great, you just need to focus on making improving each element. :)
i don't even know what sidechaning is and i'm pretty sure i'm fine without it, haha.ah, then it's the bassdrum which is superior to the synth in volume. sidechaining is a limiting method in general electronic music, mainly used in house/trance/etc. you should google it, it's quite handy to know if you plan on becoming a producer.

« on: January 29, 2012, 11:14:54 AM »yeah, i heard a click in there where i had no idea how it even got there, when it didn't appear when I played it in the middle of the song. i've seen videos of people using these volume limiters or whatever and i think that might be the problem, or i could adjust the lead synth itself or choose a different pass.i think it may be just overall the noise being too loud. you can also try compressors. oh and if you don't already sidechain with compressors, you should try it. gives the possibility to just change the mixer volume. (if you sidechained on that before)
also, i probably should mention that it's a work in progress.

« on: January 29, 2012, 11:10:33 AM »i'd hate to shoot down your criticism but i'm completely fine with the first minute and thirty seconds, it's what to do afterwards is where i have the problem, haha.my criticism was directed against the whole song, mainly the last part. :)
you also might want to check out the filtered noise that uprises. it's a bit distorted.
if it is produced in FL Studio, and you don't mind. i could show you what i mean, if you send me the .flp.

I guess you used FL Studio.
Anyway try making the ENV for the main synth a longer and less powerful.
You should try add some reverb too. :)
And you should layer some snares on the clap.
Maybe layer a hi-hat on the bassdrum.
Otherwise it's quite decent. I like the little discrete melody that gets played 0.29.

This means that you can't see any other online servers anymore.You know what a master server is? A master server is a server that collects information from different servers, so people can join it through the Server Browser. Without it, you just need the ip to connect.
