The issue seems to have abruptly fixed itself. o-o

There are plenty of guides to lowering computer temperaturesApparently not seeing as the first few results I found dated to 2006 and were only relevant to GeForce 7000 series GPUs.
does your case have any form of cooling system in place (how many fans does it have, do you have liquid cooling?)Noedit: I only have one case fan that isn't near the GPU, but I'm not sure how much it would help. My GPU has about a centimeter of clearance between it and my soundcard.
Did turning down your shaders help? What about if you turn them off?I already stated that my shaders are completely off.
I think the overclock in this case is what's causing the absurd heatI've only overclocked my shaders by 17 Hz, but the memory does have a boost of around 200 which I'm going to lower. I've been running an overclock for a long time though and only recently has this happened. If I run Blockland for long enough my room will smell like overheated electronics.
This makes me think that the fan is possibly clogged with dust; when's the last time you've dusted it out?I've never dusted it seeing as I don't have an air blaster, but again this is a very recent development.
Though I don't see how that would affect CPU load
It seemed a bit louded in my right speaker.I told you to use headphones. This was still noticeable though my crappy speakers when I tested it, but through headphones it renders the game unplayable due to massive annoyance.
Is that all?
Doesn't seem like a big deal, really.
I did not mean that it would increase the sound quality, rather increase the atmosphere of the game by widening ones perspective of the 3D sound featured in the torque engine.Through headphones it's MUCH easier to hear how absolutely terrible the game's audio quality is. When I switched from speakers to headphones years ago I was disappointed to hear tons of white noise in all of the game's audio.
And the reason the audio quality is no higher than 22050HzIt actually is higher than 22050Hz in some cases. I was complaining about default sound effects. A few of the sounds I played in foobar2000 reported 44100Hz.
is for speedy downloading. Would you rather download a 0.8MB file containing 2 seconds of audio, or a 0.1MB file containing 2 seconds of audio? You mean KB. No audio format encodes with such a ridiculously high data footprint; if audio really took up all that space, a three minute song in FLAC would take up gigabytes of space. Uncompressed waveform audio has the biggest footprint at about 10 MiB per minute.
You've got to be kidding me.3D sound ≠ stereo sound sources. Obviously I meant that the game can't process stereo sound files. Why do you think the console yells at you if you try using stereo music?
Next time you're playing in-game, turn your left or right ear towards any sound.
Then, come back and tell me if Torque supports stereo
