Because YOUR money doesn't keep its value.

Not OUR money. YOUR money.

All money changes in value on a day to day basis. What me and tails are saying is that the US Dollar is not doing well in the basis of exchange rates because of the crashing US economy.

For you Americans, you may not see it as things will generally be the same price as it has been for a while. Us Brits can buy many more Dollars for our Pound right now which makes things cheaper to buy in Dollars than it has been for a long time.

It used to be about $1.5 to £1 which meant that if we wanted to buy something which cost us $150 (like TGE), we would be paying £100. NOW, the exchange rate is about $2 to £1 so if we were to buy something that was $150 now, it would cost us £75, saving us some monies!

I hope that explains it...

Wow thanks for that response Chrono. Do you have any links to the work your doing on these two games?

I've not actually started anything yet as I've been busy with school and advertising my site etc...

You should join ma forums and chat about it, the link is around here somewhere. I don't want to post it again cuz certain people like to bitch to me about it.

Thanks again. Much appreciated!

I'll have a look but in my learning of Java, OOP is covered so I think I'll be good on that side of things. Many thanks anyways!

Yea I understand that people don't share the same opinions on the matter. It really depends on your ability really I think; an ability to learn fast and to adapt knowledge from IT + Maths. I've been learning Java for a few months now and I seem to be doing fine so if this C++ to Java thing is true then after I've done some more then the transition to C++ will be easier.

I've not done any Java game programming yet but am sure my method will work for game programming in both languages too.

wow thank you all for such great input; i really do appreciate it lots.

Yes I am Scottish :D

I understand everything you posed Space Guy. Interesting indeed! I do have money to buy TGE but only just. I've messed with Blender before so it's a good idea.

Your right Packer in that an MMO is not a good idea. It has crossed my mind but to start with an MMO would just be hell so a much smaller game with TGE will suit me very well.

Skele; I was told Java to C++ was easier from a Senior Lecturer at a university here and as he is the lecturer for the course I wish to do; I think I'll take it from him :). Thanks anyways!

Spation; This is the game idea I have! (kinda) It will be like real life but with a high degree of customisation. Don't ask what I mean by this it's all a blur in my mind atm. All I see atm is high speed car chases with players as both the police and as the... robber maybe? Also I see people with some sort of injury being treated at a hostpital ran by the players.

This may just seem all too much but it's a sort of dream. I'm not a one for exceptional graphics; it would be nice to have good looking basic graphics which provides compatibility stuff too.

If anybody is interested at all then please feel welcome to come along to my forums and post about it. I've not got to the point of putting anything on the forums about this yet so any posts are good.

Thanks all so much again for all the feedback!
