Help / Re: Monitor Going Black
« on: March 04, 2010, 10:06:09 PM »
Did you only use your mouse to wake the monitor up?

Because, some computers, will only wake up using the keys. (SPACEBAR will do the trick)

Yeah, that's not the problem. It's not really technically on standby. I can be actively doing things and it will automatically do it.

Help / Monitor Going Black
« on: March 04, 2010, 09:03:22 PM »
When I start Blockland, it runs completely fine. After a few minutes of leaving it on, my monitor instantly turns black. I can't see anything on the screen, but my computer continues to run as normal. The light on the monitor changes from green to orange (orange indicating it's off or on standby, I think). I've tried turning the monitor on and off several times, but to no avail. Does it have something to do with my drivers?

Keep in mind this only started happening today. It worked fine yesterday. Also, the problem happens even on the main menu if left on for more than a minute or so.

General Discussion / Re: v12 -> v13 Vortex

Okay, this sort of relates to what was being said earlier about the "Brick Catalog". It's just an idea that was floating around in my head that I felt might possibly work.

Here's how it would work:

Everyone who wishes to, can submit their model for a brick. The submission of course would include pictures and minor details such as the submitter's name, the name of the brick, etc.

All of the submissions would be sent into this catalog, sort of like the Download Manager (On a side note, this system would work through RTB, which is pretty much a given anyway). Anyone is free to browse the catalog and vote on any brick they wish (maybe there would be a limit to a few votes per day to avoid excessive voting). There would either be a "Thumbs up" (+1) option, or "Thumbs down" (-1). The submissions in the catalog list would include a vote counter next to them, to track how many points a certain brick has. If the number of votes got below a certain number (say "-15"), then it would be automatically sent to the Fail Bin or whatever it's called.

Eventually, at the end of a certain time period, the brick (yes, most likely only one, to ensure only utmost quality) with the most votes would be reviewed by those with the converter (IE Trader, Ephialtes, Kaje, TheGeek). The number of faces would be checked, as well as any other deciding factors that I am not going to be pretend I know anything about. This would ensure that the brick would not lower frame rate too much.

At this point, if the brick model was approved by both the community through votes, and the "certified modders", it would begin it's process through the BLB converter and make its way to the downloading section, where we download the quality bricks for our enjoyment.

There are still a few things that would have to be ironed out: How will the system prevent people from exploiting it, such as being able to vote more than the daily maximum? How many votes will players be given daily? How often is voting held and for how long? A month?

...and so on.

Stop being such drama queens. Uncle Az turns his back for one second... :P

Obviously I can't be here all the time, my everyday life doesn't allow me to, but I'd expect the rest of you to at least keep the spirits up when I'm not here. But I see why it must be frustrating, and I would understand why you would be willing to leave the clan, but I'm staying. :)

Yeah, I will fess up and admit that I did act a tad dramatic. However, we are without a dedicated server, which  brings up the next issue: Who will host, and are we going to start a new project?

As one of the leaders of CART, I am just going to come out and say that there is a 95% chance that CART has died and will never revive. It was fun while it lasted, but our attempt at making a MotE spin-off has failed.

Thanks to Azazel and all of the other clan members who put as much work as they could into the clan.

That is all.

Suggestions & Requests / No-Collision Player-type
« on: August 26, 2009, 07:02:58 PM »
I've recently made a challenge, but the problem is it's way too easy to beat since all of the players just player-stack. I was wondering if any decent modder could mod a player-type where the players can't collide with each other and have no jets.

I'm almost 100% sure that everyone who has a challenge or enjoys challenges would find this useful, as it would eliminate lines and prevent exploits such as player-stacking.

Yeah, Ace, you should really consider adding onto/updating the RPG, or making a sequel. I'm pretty sure I can speak for most people, when I say we are dying for new content.

This is basically the epitome of loving-amazing building. It's a yes from me.

It's just a small build I made. Never finished it.

I've noticed that progress on the track has slowed down quite a bit. I was hoping to start on the "other project" soon, although it may not be an official clan build.

I messed up on the other one. This is the revised poll.

This is just out of curiosity, not for school.

Edit: It says the max amount of votes is 5, so I guess I will leave it at that.

Vote for your Top 5 favorite.

No this is not for school, it's just out of my own curiosity.

One other thing: Don't be handicapped and vote everything unless you really do like them all.

Edit: Okay, I forgot to put a maximum number of voting. I left it blank... D:

My picture got ignored because it was the last post on the page and some cigarette posted a random useless picture :(

Welcome to the "Blockland Forums" Falcon. :D

No but really, go red hair.

Okay, I was using StumbleUpon and I found this site. You type in a word for each category and it creates a conspiracy for you.
Copy and paste yours if you like.
