I say it should be a throwable item so that after you throw it out of your inventory you have room to obtain the stolen item

Yeah that would be neat. Perhaps it should only do this if your inventory is full, though. I'd like to have a version that in some way doesn't consume itself on use, unless necessary.

I'm looking for some kind of melee-range item or tool that when used on another player, will remove the item they currently have selected from their inventory and add it to your own.

Pretty simple, yet after hours of searching I can't seem to find a similar item that already exists. Anybody know of one?

If someone were to create this:
Stealing an item when your inventory is full will cause the player who loses the item to drop it on the ground.
Trying to steal an item when the player has nothing would just result in an error message.

I realize this doesn't have too much practical use for most scenarios, perhaps it should be admin-only? Doesn't really matter for my purposes.

No, I'm not saying it does, I'm saying it should, as opposed to your idea of what it should do. I mean, it's not bad, but (I think) it'll be quite complicated.

Ah, okay. I see what you were saying. And yeah that would be fine but I still would prefer text on the HUD. That's just my preference, though.

It seems the bug with dropping a weapon and picking it back up to replenish the ammo is still there. The bug only seems to happen when certain other weapon add-ons are enabled. I haven't been able to restart me server over and over to find all of the add-ons creating a conflict because there is apparently multiple conflicting add-ons. When I did have enough patience, I was able to find that Bushido's old 880 Rifle add-on was causing the drop-for-free-ammo-trick to happen, but after deleting that things were fine until I enabled other weapons and the bug came back. Included in those add-ons that I enabled were the melee weapon packs from T+T. It seems that Bushido's add-ons in specific are causing the issue. Any way to fix this? Although I don't care for the weapons and ammo system from T+T, I would like to be able to use the melee weapons without the Advanced Weapon pack guns having infinite ammo.

Edit: Did a little bit more troubleshooting and it looks like it just happens whenever another mod with an ammo system is enabled. Maybe it has something to do with the wall the other mods establish ammo or something.. I don't really know how it works. Even if I disable ammo in other mods the problem persists... The odd thing is the 880 rifle doesn't use an ammo system but it still breaks the advanced weapons...

Edit2: I made a mistake, the T+T Melee weapons don't actually enable the pack's ammo system like I had thought. They do work together. Still would be nice if there was a way for this and separate mods both using ammo systems to work together...

To some developers it might not matter. It's just common courtesy, especially to someone who probably worked very hard to create it.

Well, you see, we have these things called patents and copyright laws. Although you don't exactly patent an add-on, there is a reason that the ability to patent inventions was created. People typically don't like their intellectual property stolen.

It appears that $pref::server::TotalRPG::preferredNotificationMode does not change where the currency messages output to. Although, I would much rather appreciate a message on the bottom print HUD, displaying something like "Item/Currency/KeyItem + #" for X amount of seconds after being received.

For context: If I wanted players to receive a small amount of currency (but rapidly) it spams the chat. Although making the pref effect the currency as well as RPG items would be nice, it would interfere with the center print ammo that the weapons I'm using create... So a bottom print would be ideal as an addition to the HUD.


Edit: Another thing, when you receive an item that starts with a vowel, it should say "an" not "a". Something else that could be fixed with just "Item +1" on the HUD.

Edit2: Similarly, if you had your currency as something like Dollars, when you receive 1 it would say "1 Dollars". Perhaps an option to add an 's' onto the currency name for quantities bigger than 1 or just the "Item +1" HUD thing.

Help / Various issues with Blockland (Macintosh) + Tons of crashing

I've been having tons of issues most of which were also occurring in v20. Keep in mind I'm running on a Mac. Ok where to start...

Ill start with my key verification issues.
So often times when starting up Blockland it will say "validating key" or something instead of "Welcome, Flaronix." or whatever its supposed to say.
Since my key "isn't verified" when this happens, I can't join any servers. I figured out I can fix this by reentering my key (Clicking the "key" button on the bottom of the main menu). But sometimes when I reenter my key it wont allow me to load the multiplayer servers. After various restarts and reentering my key I can eventually get it to work. So Blockland is still playable.

Next is my crashing issues.
Anytime I start a single player server it seems that after a certain amount of time, maybe 3-5 mins or something (I've never timed it), Blockland crashes.
Very few times have I got it not to crash but for unknown reasons. Most times it will just crash, though. Also, if I try to quit to the main menu to avoid the crash, its a guaranteed crash. Every time i exit a single player server to the main menu I crash. I get the same issue of crashing after x mins when i host multiplayer too, but its A LOT faster. When Hosting multiplayer I crash like 10 seconds into it. But playing other peoples' servers works fine.

Those are all issues i've had in v20 and are still there in v21.
But here's my last issue that is obviously v21 only.

The shading update doesn't work for me. I've heard a lot of other people say this too. No matter what setting I have "Shading Quality" set to in the options, the shading just wont appear. I've tried everything from off to high but still no shadows. I was talking about it on a server and somebody (I think his name was Whilestorm or something) said they had the exact problem and were also RUNNING ON MAC. Probably a mac-only issue?

Any help for any of these problems would be nice. Thanks.

I have this problem too.

Are you in single-player or internet?
I was on single player when It happened to me. I haven't tried to place the brick in multiplayer servers.
