Surround logs with cobblestone and use flint and steel to light it up and it wont spread

I found out what I did wrong, didnt put cobblestone on the bottom

Surround a flammable block with non-flammables.
Now check if there is qwood within a 5 block radius.
No?
Then light the block in the middle on fire.
Now you can optionally remove the non-burnable blocks.
Voila infinite fire.

That didnt work for me
