Help / I'm having trouble with my vista and servers
« on: July 21, 2008, 11:34:41 AM »
 Hello everyone,

I recently upgraded to a newer model computer, and of course, it has vista...
everything was fine until i started using this computer. I have forwarded my ports, and made an exception for blockland's ports. But no one can connect to my servers.
i have absolutely no idea why i am having this problem, because it always worked on my xp. My best bet is that vista is doing something to alter the security, and since I'm fairly new to vista i don't know too much. but as always, I would greatly appreciate any help.

NOW I know your problem, I just looked back at your post. No, don't copy it. Delete the folder you copied and just drag the blockland folder onto the desktop and do what I said in my original post..

This time i am 90% sure this will work!
Hope I helped you solve this problem.

Yes, i'm trying to tell you to open the data, base, and the other main folders and give the computer permission to access these folders...

Sorry if this doesn't help you, worked for me, and all i can do is try to help.

General Discussion / Re: Another New Player

Oh, one of the players in the room said that to become an admin you hit alt-F4, 10 seconds later.

 "Blockhead6506 has left the game"

He came back and said, the game just did something weird.

When i got my new computer with vista i had the EXACT same problem, so you are in luck! Go to my computer, The C drive or w/e you have, then drag the Blockland folder onto the desktop, then try to open it, then it should ask for permission etc. then when its open just open all the sub-folders and then try to run the game!
*all you have to do is open the folders, nothing else, this should give access*

 Hope this helps. =D

Help / Re: Game Acting Funny

seems like its not the ram. To see your graphics driver go to run, then type in dxdiag and hit enter, then go to display, i need to know the name, and chip type.

I hope this helps you find it.

And if its not the graphics card then i am stumped...

You missed something Spation, if his grammar is this bad he may need help finding out how to forward his ports.

Vero Super, here is the link to help you forward your ports...

Copying your console.log is very simple, and i didn't ask if your OS was old...
I was simply asking if you computer is old,  like if you bought that computer 4-6 years ago it may have some trouble. And one more question... could you tell me your
graphic card chip type and how much ram you have. Letting me know this could help me more with your problem.

um, is your computer an older model? this could have something to do with it. if not, i would definitely think it is one of your add-ons.
