Help / Cable modem, good or bad?

I got a new cable modem and since the LAG notification flashes rapidly and I lag forward and backward just as rapidly. And I have fooled with the network settings. Is there an optimal setting for me? This is a problem that occurs with the default settings also. Is there a script or an addon or anything I can do to fix this apart from getting a modem? I miss blockland...

Seriously.
You worked incredibly hard on this build. I went to Pyscho's build to check on it and they screwed stuff up.
You know the two top towers? That's where you spawned and you spawned with a rifle. That's it. It's a complete disgrace to this awesome build.

I think it worked. But that lag problem still occurs.
I've tried 3 different servers and i've connected but lagged horribly.

Yeah, I have been able to join with addons before. But not since I got new internet.
And I've re-installed twice. I'm gonna try again.

I'll join a server and begin to download addons and an error message pops up keeping me from enjoying the game.

Also, when I manage to join a game, it lags like something nasty. I've set the network settings to Cable, which I have, and it still doesn't help.

Anyone know what's wrong?
