Modification Help / Re: Drop.io - Great file host for Blockland
« on: August 17, 2008, 02:45:07 AM »
I might use this when I become a modder, but still I think you should upload to mediafire just in case that goes down.
I made this thread shortly after MediaFire went down for a couple hours. :3
Of course, it went down for a couple hours right as I was gathering addons.

And I found a neat comparison sheet:

No clue about the bottom though :cookieMonster:

Modification Help / Drop.io - Great file host for Blockland
« on: August 14, 2008, 11:35:59 PM »
People have been uploading their addons to the stupidest download sites, many of them filled with ads, complicated (click here to download), or just plain slow.

So, I present to you, one of the greatest file hosts ever:
http://drop.io/
(I am not affiliated with Drop.io, I just love their service)

Files are stored in 'drops', which are groups of files you upload.

The whole site is clean and easy to navigate, and uploading files is simple. You don't need to login, you just enter the name of your drop (drop.io/yourname), select the files, and upload anonymously.
They've got tons of extra features, as well. Just look at your drop once you create it.

The only thing bad about it is the 100MB limit, but if you need to host a Blockland addon bigger then that... You're crazy.

So, please consider uploading your addons there, it'll make it a lot easier to download. :3

General Discussion / Re: Badspot for a day.
« on: August 14, 2008, 10:30:06 PM »
Its a simple server name change, it isn't Badspot or registers as Badspot.
There is no mod for that on my server.

I do have events plus, but he joined the server as Badspot.

I'm not even sure how he did it... :3

Edit:
Here's where your story lost any shred of dignity or credibility.
Idiot.

Add-Ons / Re: Output Event - setEventTimeout
« on: August 13, 2008, 03:25:05 AM »
Could you make it so you select which events time out instead of all of them?
Just use setEventEnabled, one time toggling your input off, and then a delayed one toggling it on.

This event is just a built in event with some of its limbs cut off.

General Discussion / Re: Projectile oddness/bugs
« on: August 12, 2008, 06:02:24 PM »
If you spawn a projectile via events and make the projectile size 2x then later have the projectile "bounce" on another brick (via events), its size will be set back to 1x.
Just OnProjectileHit delete and spawn another. Doing that also lets you spawn another in a different direction, which creates a neat effect for some projectiles.

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Static.....build?

Even with the brick limit set incredibly high, you can only see around 140K of the bricks, though you can keep creating more.

That entire floor is covered with 1x1 brick spam, though you can't see it.

Interestingly enough, the server still does collision on it. However, since the client can't see it, it can't do linear interpolation, which makes it very laggy to walk on.

Stopped being able to see at 140K, but kept creating more blind.

Edit: Yes, the topic is a bit old, but better then creating a new one.
