Modification Help / Really noob modeling question.

Hi all.
I was wondering, do you absolutely NEED to use milkshape to make addon weapons? or is blender ok?
Another thing, I want to know how to actually make the weapons, not just the model (ie, the projectile, and explosion, the scripting, etc.)
If anyone can help me with this, it'd be apreciated.

Suggestions & Requests / "Magic" Weapons?

I dont know for sure, but I remember about 4 weapons from V8 that looked like wands and shot out blasts of their respective element. (Earth Water Fire) And I was wondering if someone wanted to maybe remake them.
