I WANT PIZZA
I WANT PIZZA
I WANT PIZZA
i just want my pizza  :panda: WHY CANT I HAVE MY PIZZA

He's had two topics worth to try and work it out, so, is he gay, straight, bi, or what?
Clearly the boy cannot choose between all the 'fun' options.

All the songs from their last album are about love, so its hell awkward listening to them around family or people.
Still, catchy music...

« on: February 18, 2010, 10:00:29 AM »
Do you ever get the sillies? You know, just browse/do something funny until you are somewhat euphoric and everything is enough to elicit a chuckle? It happens in conversations with friends sometimes.

You just end up incapable of working for about 20 mins, chuckling like a moron.
Its fantastic.

Off Topic / Pencils

Heard on the Discovery Channel that a pencil contains roughly enough graphite to draw a line 56km long.
Which means if you finish a pencil in school/whatever, you've drawn something comparable to that length in notes.

Kind of frightening.

Off Topic / Regarding Naps

So, naps.

Some people swear by them, and others hate them.

Some say that they take them during the day and wake up all refreshed, but I just wake up feeling tired, sick and woozy, and, unlike waking up after a good sleep, a shower doesn't help. Plus I think they waste time, but I collapsed into one today out of tiredness and feel terrible afterwards.

Thoughts?
Do you like them or hate them?

Drama / "Why does everyone hate me?" Threads
« on: February 15, 2010, 03:39:59 PM »
I don't know, but perhaps it is a case of the human condition to ask this when you encounter some people on the forum.
I've been telling people to look at other people's posts and what replies were made there lately so that they know its almost always not exclusive. The forums are rowdy. There is naturally a lot of strong words used, and perhaps all those new players don't realize this.

Either way, there are enough of these threads that appear each month in Drama for me to notice them, and making one is almost certain doom for the OP, if they decide to make a big deal of things. Which, incidentally, most do, being already upset to have posted that.

Perhaps there should be a sticky discouraging this strongly? Or put it in another sticky that is up there already?
I don't know, but it just seems common enough to warrant this, so, if someone did make such a thread, someone could simply link to the article, and inform the person it is unwise to pursue such a thread.

I think the biggest miracle is how all the new players know how to put these threads in Drama, so perhaps they do know.

Off Topic / Ferrofluids - Mindblowing Liquid Metal
« on: January 30, 2010, 05:41:09 PM »

Ferrofluids are made up of tiny magnetic fragments of iron suspended in oil (often kerosene) with a surfactant to prevent clumping (usually oleic acid). The fluid is relatively easy to make at home yet extremely expensive to buy on-line. How does $165 a liter sound? Pretty bad, right?

What happens is that when a magnetic field is applied to the fluid, the particles of iron compound inside align to it. Once that happens, the fluid becomes a fluid-solid.

The ability to become solid or liquid with the application of a magnetic field also makes them perfect for computer assisted shock absorbers in Ferraris; NASA uses them for high-tech flight altitude assistance, and like a gyroscope in spacecraft. The Air Force uses their magnetic field absorbing properties to make aircraft invisible to radar.

A fantastic demo is here:

And a tutorial on how to make some for yourself very cheaply is here:

After watching that video, my mind was blown.
I will try making a batch eventually.
Thoughts?

Drama / TBM is dead
« on: January 02, 2010, 10:40:49 PM »
This is continuing on the same trend that MtnDew was in his thread here:
http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=94287.0

First, their forums died, so they've moved to a secondhand calculator forum. It really has the gay nerdy theme down-pat. The admin, "Kermmartian" has this on the website's homepage:
Quote from: CemetechIntro
Kerm Martian has for nearly five years held the title of the world's most prolific graphing calculator programmer, with over four hundred completed projects and more than seven hundred thousand direct downloads.
Oh wow, what a goddamn nerd. He brags about the number of things he's made for calculators. Someone needs to get outside.

Recently, old TBM developers decided to return to their 'new' friend game.
Instead of deciding to say hello and drop in for a spot of tea, these guys have made the right choice, and decided to withdraw all their content from TBM from embarrassment. Unsurprising.

Gents -

The IP that I had created for TBM, however minor, was non-transferrable. I did not grant anyone the right to transfer their usage rights to a new entity. Please remove any content that I had created for TBM from your project, and my name from any credits as I do not wish to have any association with Freebuild through content or credit, be it implied or explicit.

Let's try to keep things pretty nice and on this level since this is a free project. I'll check back in about 10 days from today to ensure all traces of Greg Kefalas and/or Luquado have been removed from your project.

This shouldn't be considered a formal copyright notification, just a polite request. Thanks, best of luck in your endeavors, and word to your mother.

Gobbles here:

I want all of my content that I created for TBM and for my own projects to be removed as soon as possible. This includes brick models, textures, maps, skyboxes, scripts, and anything else that I have done in the past that is now included in this game without my permission.

I hope you guys can understand my decision to do this, and I want you all to know I wish you the best in your own endeavors. Stuff just keeps coming up from the past that relates me back to Blockland and TBM and I'm tired of it. Like Luquado said, I'll be checking back here in a few days to make sure all of my content is out of the game.

I was going to post this in the other topic before it was locked.

The following content in your game was created by me:

* all ingame documentation

* all iGobs prefixed with "Vehicle-"

* all content as stated from the following weapons:
- blackhole gun: sounds
- blaster rifle: script, model, sounds
-snip-
- windowsxp.decal.png

* any content of mine I may have forgotten to list, but is known to the Freebuild team to be mine

I do not want my content to be a part of your game and am requesting that you remove it in a timely manner.

Thanks,
PhatStreet

Without the stuff that these friends made, there isn't half a game, and its so typical that, the moment TBM tries to get serious, it inevitably pulls a muscle in its ass and ends up taking a big stuff all over itself.

To quote MtnDew

Stop these shenanigans.

tl;dr?

TBM (or TBG or whatever fancy-stuff name they've put on it) users have been abandoned by their old developers. They should stop and accept their game is dead, and even the creators don't want it alive anymore.
