Forgot to mention also: if you organize your saves by date from most recent to furthest away, the save with the most recent time will be at the bottom, while the save with furthest away time will be at the top.

Edit: Going through my saves, it seems very inconsistent. Some saves with the same day will be incorrectly above another save that was saved at a closer time to the present, while others will be the correctly organized.

Help / Re: Zonebricks loading with broken events

zone bricks and the new duplicator don't seem to like eachother

Didn't test this, but does this mean that using the new duplicator on a zonebrick will break the events just as well as if you were to load it?

Do you have bricks in the farlands? Farlands bricks will mess up saves.

If you arent sure, go to the middle of your build, type in /clearfarawaybricks, and check if the brickcount has changed. The command clears bricks more than 1000 tu away from your position, aka 2000 studs in x and y direction and about 1000 bricks up and down

I tried this and not much happened. Some bricks cleared, but they were being used by me, but I made a test save with this. I loaded it back up and events on zonebricks still refused to work.

I also tried a clean save after respawning of a zone brick and a regular brick with events. Both worked. I saved and loaded it again, and only the regular brick worked.

Help / Zonebricks loading with broken events

Whenever I load a zonebrick up with events of any kind, they do not work. I used to be able to duplicate and replace the brick with the Duplorcator, but now I have the New Duplicator and this does not work, so I have to destroy the brick, replace it, and replace the events.

Off Topic / Re: Going to take my learner permit test
« on: March 03, 2016, 02:04:51 PM »
it's surprising to me how many forumers that are older than me don't have a permit

At least where I live in the city, not many people get a license as early as possible because public transport is abundant.

Anyway I forgeted up and forgot to bring my birth certificate even though the website said to only bring your SSN and a completed form.

I got extremely car sick on the way there after only 10 minutes in a car, I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to drive without a window open.

I remember getting my NY permit like 10 years ago. Can't imagine it's much different. Know right of way rules, don't stop in the damn train tracks, etc. Is it still a 20 question multiple choice?

I don't even know, I haven't ever taken it. Should it tell you in the manual?

I guarantee that if you don't study at all you can get like a 20-22
When I took my NYS permit test it was ten easy questions on road signs/markings. That was 6 years ago though and the laws have changed a lot since then.
i had to do 30 questions and I needed to get 26 right

i got 26 right lol
I had to get like 18/25 right or something and I think I got 2 wrong

I've taken a bunch of online tests and there is always some ridiculous question and I always fail, I'm not dumb, they are just questions drivers don't pay any mind to or don't talk about.

I was just reading the manual that they sent me rn. Gunna have to take a quiz on it soon I think

I live in NY too but I think i'm a bit too far behind on the testing process than you are. Maybe you can give me some tips?

Like everyone said, it's common sense. People and emergency vehicles always have the right of way, dotted lines mean you can pass, solid you can't. Sometimes things might get a bit more specific, at least in the little practice tests I've seen. I seem to never be able to pass them because of weird questions. All I can say is that driving and an experienced driver with you is the best experience, and you don't have to be driving for you to gain it.

if you don't know the answer to a question, make sure to pick the most logical answer present

also the only thing that stumped me on my test was the numbers n stuff. like the stuff where you need to know the exact legal alchohol limit and how many feet you should stop before a stop sign and that crap. so i suggest memorizing any number you see in the booklet they gave you

also google up some practice tests, i took a few and it'll help you get a feel for what the real test is like

I'll be sure to look those up, thanks for that.

They send you manuals? They make you get your own here, that or you can look all over the internet and hope you find one because the DMV seems to forget how to update their own website with the correct manual.
Nah they send us a full booklet on all the sign meanings and markers on the road, and then they test you on it. If you pass they smack you with that permit

I downloaded a pdf of the manual, I'm not sure if it's only for NYS or nationwide.

For NY state, anyone have any tips? I've looked through the book and I pretty much know simple stuff like road lines and road signs by heart. I think you can take it an unlimited amount times without paying again, but I'd like to do it the first time if I can.

nope, should be fine as is

Although shouldn't it be ifValue instead of ifVariable?

I forget which is for which, but the way it is in the events worked fine.

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Incorrectly Packaged FxDTSBrick::plant

You could try using TotalRPG's pay-to-build system. You can effectively do all the same stuff, and you can disable the TotalRPG hud and other features via some basic prefs.

For my purposes, I don't use the pay to build system in CashMod, but I'll definitely download this as I really like the events. The only reason I am asking for a fix is because I have already evented a lot of things for use with CashMod, though I don't think there isn't any reason these can't go hand in hand. I might just replace it altogether if there is a way to make a similar banking system solely with events. But as for now, -

This should fix it

- thank you very much! :-)

Are you hosting the server locally?  Using a load offset won't work otherwise.  If you have a dedicated server, you can set the offset in console window for that server.

Yes, I am set as the host of my server, and it's not a dedi.

I apologize for jumping to the conclusion that this mod was the source of the problem. After I saw that the loadOffset parameter was doing nothing, it was my immediate thought. I'll run Blockland vanilla and report back here if the problem seems to be stemming from the Manager.

Edit: It seems running Blockland with all default says that the loadOffset parameter just doesn't work. I set all three coordinates to zero, hit apply, and then loaded a build. I did the same thing, except set the x coordinate to a number higher than 0, and it did not load any bricks.

I repeated the same exact process using console commands, and it worked fine. I did all of this with my normal add-ons enabled and it seems the console command works fine again, although I'm sure I tested it to make sure it wasn't actually working, so it seems it may just be a problem with the manager.

Suggestions & Requests / Incorrectly Packaged FxDTSBrick::plant
« on: March 02, 2016, 10:16:39 PM »
CashModII incorrectly packages FxDTSBrick::plant, making the New Duplicator unable to plant anything at all if they are both enabled. I would appreciate it very much if anyone could fix this problem for me, as I don't know how.

yeah, thanks for the feedback. i'm definitely gonna add a non-DM mode that will add props to the player's brickgroup and also check for build trust. I can also add a forceplant feature that will ignore float errors if at least one brick is attached - whether or not you can place a prop if its overlapping other bricks will be separate.
those mods are a lot more complex - i would prefer the system to go based off points if that's the case. It's probably better to not make this compatible with gothboy's mod/other mods, now that I think of it, simply for consistency - if i did make it compatible with gothboy's mod, how would /setPropCost work? what if players have both points AND coins? it would raise complexities and add more parameters and stuff into the mod.

Sorry for all the suggestions, hopefully I wasn't coming off as needy. Just had some ideas you probably thought about adding and wanted to mention them just in case. I only mentioned the thing about the money because I wasn't sure how liable you were to actually put that part in, so I was hoping if you actually did it at some time, I would be able to utilize it. I am better off writing something personally at that point though lol.
