MARBLE MAN, mind explaining why you're attempting to DoS the site using ruby? It's either that or you legitimately need 1k+ copies of the add-on.

Yeah, I know your IP.

1673 lines of connections, all of them yours (this isn't a live list)

Marble man just dos'd the site.

Add-Ons / AntiWreck || No more unrealistic ski tumbling!

AntiWreck
by Zapk

Description
This is an incredibly simple Add-On that simply disables the skiis' tumbling. Instead of falling over and rolling/tossing around uncontrollably, the player simply does the /alarm effect and continues to glide on the ground. I just wanted to make this since christmas is coming, it makes ramps not so difficult to ride on.

General Discussion / How is the fxDTSBrick rendered?
« on: December 05, 2013, 06:09:00 PM »
Since the release of the retail game, the fxDTSBrick class no longer uses DTS static shapes as titled.

So how do they work now? All I know is they use an octree and have a fairly low limit for no apparent reason.

Anyone care to explain?

Server Load
by Zapk

Description
An extremely easy to way to load saves from the server with no hassle at all.

This has been made before by McTwist a long time ago (dediload), but this is different;

  • Has optional gui that lets you load from a list of saves on the server
  • Uses non-hacky ways to load the bricks
  • RTB preferences for who's allowed to use it (host only by default)
  • Doesn't create a useless temporary file
  • Doesn't break until you rejoin if the save doesn't exist

Typing "/serverload" or "/sl" will open the Gui. Or, if you don't have the client, you can simply type "/sl ACM City".

Preview
The optional interface. Allows you to select from a list of server saves to load.

Blockland Saves.com

  • About

    Blockland Saves is a new site built around save hosting for Blockland. It allows users to upload, download, and browse saves uploaded by users.

    Uploaded saves are bls files (with an optional attached jpg file) with credits, a description, and a title defined by the publisher.

    If necessary, registered users can select multiple saves and download them all in one zip archive. Your uploads will keep track of the downloads so you can see what users think about your builds.

  • Why Use It?

    This site adds a simplistic way to share your builds.

    Your uploads have unique download links that you can supply to users in gallery topics if you wish.

    This also gives you the opportunity to share your newest creations with users and see what others are building.

  • Design

    Here is one of the many pages - the one for uploading saves.

    You are presented with a header on the top (for main navigation); as well as the search bar, navigation menu, and account overview (not shown) on the left.

    The main content of the page is viewed on the canvas, which is pretty obvious.

    There is a mobile site available, so use of the site on your device is as easy as on the desktop. No pinching or zooming required.

  • Try It Today

    It's totally free! More web features and an in-game browser/uploader is currently in the works.
    www.blocklandsaves.com

  • Donations

    I really don't mean to sound like a richardweed, but domains & hosting is quite expensive. So is providing 1GB of free storage for every user.

    If you'd like to leave me a tip to be put towards the site, you can do so here.

General Discussion / Zapk's Prop Hunt • Hosting! • p.3
« on: November 25, 2013, 07:13:27 PM »

- Gameplay -
The infamous gameplay made famous by Garry's Mod, in Blockland! In this game mode, there are two teams. The Hunters, and the Props. Props use their 'Prop Tool' to disguise themselves as bricks. The Hunter's job is to locate the props and eliminate them. If all the props aren't found within the time limit, the props win. A different level is loaded every couple of rounds to spice things up.

- What's New in Prop Hunt? -
The game mode has took a huge development curve since I last hosted it a couple months ago.

  • New taunt system - comes with 18 taunts by default
  • New prop system
  • New death sounds
  • New game mode icon and description
  • New Prop Tool icon
  • Hunters are placed in a box before the round
  • Fixed players not being blinded when switching to hunters
  • .wav files can be placed in GameMode_Prop_Hunt/taunts an are added when the server starts
  • Props are now the same size as their bricks in all dimensions
  • Props only rotate when they are moving; you can look around without being seen
  • There is a prevention for disguising/undisguising beside walls so props won't get stuck
  • Prop Tools are invisible when their parent is disguised
  • Disguised props must taunt every 30 seconds
  • Props can press the light key to taunt
  • Players are shown a graphic of their team when they spawn
  • Disguised props have a slight tint on their screens
  • Props can right click to remove your disguise
  • The first map is now loaded when the server starts
  • The amount of taunts on the server is now in /help

We're entirely open to submissions! If you want to submit a level for the server, send me the save file and a couple screenshots and I might put it in.

- Hosting-
The server is hosted by the RTB Dedicated Hosting service. I am not planning to switch anytime soon. The server can handle high amounts of players with no lag, and if for whatever reason it crashes, it automatically resets in as little as 6 seconds.

Enjoy your time on the server? Every donation helps!

Off Topic / I'm still banned on Google Chrome
« on: November 25, 2013, 06:03:35 PM »
I'm really confused.

My ban ended on my iPod, and here in IE, but I'm still treated like I'm banned on chrome.

I emailed Badspot this morning but he hasn't responded yet. Is this a known issue?

General Discussion / -noconsole bug
« on: November 17, 2013, 04:52:26 PM »
I wasn't sure whether or not to post this in Help, because it's a bug. Sorry if this is the wrong section.

It seems that most of the time when launching the game with -noconsole, the icon doesn't show up. It appears on the taskbar with the generic windows executable icon.

Badspot said in a live stream that now -noconsole is fixed, he would probably use it by default on steam. If he's going to do this I really think it should be fixed.

Fix You - Blockland Edition

One of my favourite songs by Coldplay, I really wanted to make a Blockland version.

Here it is, it uses all Blockland sounds (except for the organs and drums, nearly impossible to make using Blockland sounds).

Drama / Psp4804: "you should have bought it when you had the chance"
« on: November 08, 2013, 11:13:44 PM »
The whole thing began in this topic, I suggest reading through that first.

Psp and I have been friends for about 3 years, and he's been an admin on my server for a couple months earlier this year. He helps Tezuni out with a lot of things for his server, like coding, web hosting, etc.

Somewhere in the middle of the conundrum in the same thread posted before, he bought the domain zapkraft.com, an impersonation of my site (zapkraft.netne.net). It was just a fake FBI warning for a government takedown.

It stayed that way for quite some time, about three weeks has passed, when we started talking to each other. He said he would sell  the domain to me for $10, and that I should open up donations for my server. I did, a couple weeks passed, and he messaged me again. He said Tezuni bought the domain from him (I talked to Tezuni last month, he never actually bought or owned the domain at all), and the price was raised to $35.

I was obviously at a tight budget because I had to pay for hosting for my server, so I basically just ignored the site as much as I could. It kept coming back to me though, because people would always assume my website was at zapkraft.com. At this point, the site redirected to tezuni's website, so it caused a lot of confusion and explaining.

It was about two weeks ago when I talked to him about buying the domain, since I've gathered enough money to get it off him. He started saying really weird things, like he was just parking the domain and I had to wait for the year to end. When trying to purchase it off him, he didn't want to since it "wouldn't benefit him", and he didn't want to waste his time because he apparently lost the email and password he used to register the domain.

By then he was just loving with me and starting doing weird stuff to the site by making it redirect to pony database and what not, when I guess he settled with something. He said he would make the site just have an error so people would realise it's the wrong domain, and that was basically it.

When reading Donation Systems for Servers earlier today, I was curious, and checked zapkraft.com again. Unsurprisingly, it redirected to tezuni.com again. I talked to him on steam, this was the conversation.

There's not really much I can do now other than ignore it, but i'm pretty angry.

Modification Help / [Resource] Custom Game Parameters
« on: November 04, 2013, 11:43:50 PM »
You may know of these already, "-dedicated", "-mod editor", "-gamemode slayer", etc. Turns out, they're easily accessible and can be mounted to your advantage. This might not be necessary for some people, but if you're running something with an advanced back-end, this could come in handy.

In this example I used "-maxcash value" to set $maxcash.
Code: [Select]
for (%a = 1; %a < $Game::argc; %a++)
{
%nextArg = $Game::argv[%a+1];
%hasNextArg = $Game::argc - %a > 1;
if($Game::argv[%a] $= "-maxcash")
{
$argUsed[%a]++;
if(%hasNextArg)
{
$maxcash = %nextArg;
$argUsed[%a+1]++;
$a++;
}
else
{
error("Error: Missing Command Line argument. Usage: -maxcash <parem>");
}
}
}

That's basically it.
